I also own an IPad Air and I can definitely say that Touch ID is very convenient. I notice a lighter difference but not too much. I open my iPad a lot with a passcode, but now with a touch of a finger, it makes everything faster. Other than that, the first and second are really similar to me. If you don't own one, get the 2! If you want a lower budget, 1 is good as well.

We traded in our generation two iPad to get a newer model. And how could you go wrong with $100 off for Black Friday. We didn't expect anything different except the finger print button and smaller design as well as a faster processor chip. What we didn't expect was now you can feel the music and videos vibrating the iPad. Apple tech support over the phone was unaware of the speaker issue so we took it to the Apple Store in the mall. They all do it. So play with them in the store first... Especially if you are upgrading. They are a lot thinner so you can really feel the vibrations. I also have an first gen iPad mini. And I think I will hang onto it as long as I can cause of the speaker issue on the air2.

This latest iPad is a well refined device, thin, lightweight with excellent performance. Nearly every aspect has been improved. Now that being said should you buy it? The improvements do not drastically change your tablet experience from previous iPad. If you don't already have an iPad then this is the one to buy. Otherwise stick to the one you own.

Bought this for my 80 plus y.o. Mother as a replacement for her PC. She no longer was doing much word processing, so the move to the iPad seemed like a good idea. She has learned how to use this iPad quickly after a short learning period. She loves the camera and other functions, she is also very happy with the great portability of this unit.

I have the IPad 2 and the IPad mini. The IPad 2 was a gift and introduced me to the product. It seemed heavy to me, and I dropped it several times. Still it worked and I became accustomed to using it and decided to buy the mini for travel. The mini was slower and I didn't use it as much. I liked the bigger screen of the IPad. Since my Ipad 2 was damaged, I decided to buy the IPad Air 2 in gold. I basically use it for Internet tasks. I bought a Samsung tablet for my husband. I feel the quality of the Apple product is much better than the Samsung. The IPad Air 2 has good battery life, it's light, and I love the gold color.
