Purchased as a Christmas present during black Friday weekend so was a great deal. Was an upgrade for one of our kids from their old iPad. The iPad Air 2 is lighter and has extra features that the iPad Air 1 doesn't have so we were glad we purchased the 2 instead of the 1. And is just being used to watch TV, texting and face timing so didn't need lots of extra GB's.

Very lightweight, much thinner than iPad Air 1. Sound is a little smail.

This is so much lighter than my other iPad with retina. Screen looks great.

Awesome product, I upgraded from the fourth generation. It's really light and thin and doesn't cut into your hands like the angular fourth generation. However, with the free productivity software from apple, the only way you will get optimal use out of it will be to upgrade to one of the models with more space. I'm very pleased that I can get 4x the space for more money instead of 2x the space, however 16gb is small even for my mom who isn't a power user and didn't have enough space to download and install the iOS8 update. I returned my 16gb model and got the next tier up. I'm pleased that space is the only thing that separates the models and you aren't forced to settle with restricted software or subpar hardware. I still don't think the ipad is a laptop replacement for several simple reasons. The first is that all but the 128gb is truly too small to be considered a laptop replacement. True, the entry level 2011 macbook air had a 64gb solid state drive-but that was inexcusable. Additionally, the ipad runs into some odd walls occasionally such as a website that is formatted incorrectly or causes you to get stuck in an endless revert to "mobile site" loop. Additionally, a solid laptop would be something you could easily hack and tweak to get around bugs or perform necessary work arounds. The ipad doesn't come with a bundled keyboard case - you wouldn't buy a laptop and then expect to have to buy the keyboard separately, or buy a laptop and then have to buy a stand so the screen will stay up. I love the ipad, but I also love my macbook air for tasks such as writing a 15 page lab report or doing statistical analysis in IBM SPSS. I have room in my life for both. Lastly, it is really difficult to get "bootleg" movies on an ipad without a computer. On that note, sideloading anything other than PDFs to the bookshelf app is overly complicated or impossible.
