A good purchase for the novice user

However, I purchased the iPad Air 2 for my niece as part of the 2016 Black Friday deals. For the price offered by Best Buy this was a great value. Note that the iPad Air 2 pretty much has the same processor and RAM as the iPad Mini 4 released in Fall 2015.

While I prefer Windows and Microsoft software for computers, tablets and phones are solid with Apple. There are a lot of bells and whistles that I don't even use... so perhaps Apple should consider building options without the fancy mic or 2 cameras, but otherwise great product.
