Excited about purchase but experienced issue with unit turning off at odd times, even on full battery charge. Had to exchange the unit for another one week after purchase. Exchanged unit already bringing joy and raised opinion of the quality of Apple products (restored reputation).

Everything must be dead still to get an accceptable picture quality. Videos come out well except in low light conditions. Slow motion setting works well. As for the rest of the features everything else works as well as the Air, though I really like the fingerprint feature!

I used iPad before but recently brought one for new year, bit upset that few times it get fridge where you need to completely restart the iPad, really got upset that I wasted 600$ for a 11.5" inch size of my iPhone.

The first thing we noticed was how light and thin it is. Then you turn on the screen, and wow. The retina display is amazing, especially since we've come from the iPad 2nd gen which did not have the retina display. -- The difference -- Aside from it was time to upgrade for us, one of the biggest attractors is TouchID. Touch ID on the iPhone is amazing. It's the perfect blend of security and usability. Now TouchID comes to the iPad, and it's even better. The TouchID button feels solid. The silver ring (or gold if you get the gold) around the touch plate is distinctive and elegant. -- The color -- So with the iPad Air, you have the color options (Silver, Gold, Space Gray). We'd never tried the other colors before (there was only white and black back when we got our old iPad). The reason we got the Silver is because that's all they had at the store. A silver and a gold. Gold seemed a little much for us, and we would have been happy with the Space gray, but we've come to really like the white front and silver edges of the silver. I thought the back of the iPad would be the same brilliant silver color, but it's actually only on the TouchID, the edges of the iPad, and the Apple logo on the back. The rest of the back casing is the finely brushed aluminum.

I originally purchased this mainly for sketching with a stylus, but I use it for so much more. At least once a day I use it for browsing the web, streaming video (has iPad apps for Netflix, HBOGO and many more), and playing games. I even use it for work. It's more accessible than my laptop, and more portable, but has an amazing screen so I opt for this instead of my phone for all quick tasks. It's super light weight, even with a protective case. I have all Apple products so its easy to connect to all my other devices: laptop, phone, TV. I wouldn't recommend this instead of a laptop only because the applications are limited, but it's great for smaller projects. Worth the price for all it can do.

Not a fan. 2nd I Pad purchased its convient for surfing web, email, Facebook etc but it's not a replacement for laptop.
