So much better than the iPad Air
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had owned the iPad Air less than a year when the Air 2 came out. I liked the specs of the Air 2, but didn't want to spend the money to upgrade at that time. When Microsoft Office came out for the iPad, I had an issue with having only 16gig of storage space. Best Buy had a 4 hour sale soon after that for the 64gig Air 2, and a very good price. I decided to take the plunge for more memory. The different between the two is noticeable. I didn't think that the difference between the A7 and A8 processor was going to be that much, but the Air 2 is faster and more reliable. I have less App closures than I ever had with the Air. It is nice to have the Touch ID with the iPad and I can't wait for iOS 9 to work with the multitasking. If you want an excellent iPad, spend the extra money and get the Air 2

Excellent tablet with some annoying quirks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up purchasing my Ipad Air 2 for a very superficial reason. The Ipad had a game that I loved playing on the PC, but wanted to be able to play on the go. (Battle Academy) This was not available on Android. For several years I had been considering upgrading my original release Kindle Fire to something more modern. I really felt I should be able to trade in my older model for an upgrade, but didn't see how it was possible. So instead of buying a newer version Kindle Fire I upgraded to the Ipad Air2 just because it offered a game I wanted to play on the go. This was quite an expensive upgrade, but I wanted to see if I could somewhat future proof my investment by getting a device that graphics played quite an important part. Once I started using my Ipad the improvements over my Kindle Fire were immediately obvious. Yes, it played the Battle Academy game flawless (except for unpicking units), but it opened up some previously closed doors that my other tablet didn't really have. The most evident improvement was just how easy it was to write something within the device. The Ipad ships with a program called Pages, which is similar to Microsoft Word. This I find very good, but since I'm trying my hand at writing as a hobby I actually purchased another software app that only was available with Apple products called Ulysses. Once the syncing issues with my PC and the program Scrivener were waded through I'm finding this to work excellent. I do my writing on the Ipad (depending how long I plan to write I either use the keypad on the device or use my Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard), and compile and sort everything on my PC and the Scrivener software. The "Box" application does very well with syncing data between Ulysses and Scrivener. (Dropbox at this point can't do a full sync). It is great to be able to start writing anywhere you happen to be. There were other very pleasant surprises. I really like how well the Ipad displays my Kindle books. I expected a let down with this, but I see the text on the Ipad as well as it was on my Kindle. Perhaps the new Retina display helped in this regards. The Ipad also includes IBooks. I didn't expect to use this, but I found that 1 book I needed was only available on IBooks and not on Kindle. The IBook interface is a little easier to navigate than Kindle, (since it was built for Apple devices) but it's not that much different. There is a full suite of Office type products such as the equivalent to Powerpoint, Word and Excel.(Keynote, Pages and Numbers) I haven't really tried these out much, but their layout looks similar to Microsoft Office. There are also some fun suites included such as Photo Booth and Garage Band. Photo Booth allows you to do some very silly pictures such as stretching and mirroring effects. This was a hit with the younger crowd. Garage Band allows you to play different types of instruments such as Guitar, Drums and Keyboard. I have no talent in this regard, but it's fun to play with. Now for the negatives. Perhaps there are easy fixes to the following issues, but they are annoying. 1) I could not figure out how to disable screen rotation. I like to read in bed, sometimes the book is at a strange angle and it will rotate away from the best reading angle. There supposedly is a fix to that which oddly enough appears to involve disabling system sounds. I couldn't find the right combination to remove the rotate issue, but I did successfully create another issue. 2) By trying to disable sound to fix the view angle, I did disable system sound, but couldn't figure out out to get it back again. Now my games don't have sound and when I close my cover's lid I don't hear the off click. I still can play music and Youtube sound however. 3) There isn't a specific undo button like there is on the other tablets I've tried. Many times within a software application there is an undo feature, but some applications I didn't find the undo. 4) Trying to log on can be a frustrating experience. I have the fingerprint scan feature on. When I click on the lower center button with the correct finger the screen saver comes up. You have to have your finger oriented correctly. Most of the time it asks you to slide a text line on the screen. Sometimes the right screen pops up so you don't have to do this. Sometimes when you slide the text line Siri comes up and asks you what you need. Sometimes a password login screen appears in which you have to provide your password. Sometimes you actually achieve the correct slide motion and you get the correct desktop. I really hate this seemingly random game that you have to play before you even get to use the Ipad. Perhaps some day I'll reach a breaking point and actually see if there is a workaround to solve this, but at present I'm putting up with the random login roulette. Overall the pluses to the Ipad far exceed the negatives. I am even considering clearing out some clutter by letting my Dad have my laptop PC so I can exclusively use the Ipad as a PC.

What's Not to Love
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.iPad Air 2 is a wonderful tablet. It is sleek and incredibly fast. The screen clarity is fabulous. I could not be happier with its performance. Glad I purchased the full size instead of the mini. You will not be disappointed!

Fast and Light
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from the first generation iPad Air to take full advantage of all the new features which will be available in the upcoming iOS release. The better camera, faster processor and amazingly light weight are huge bonuses.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second Ipad I own. My wife and I were discussing whether we should get a new galaxy tab. We finally agreed to buy a new ipad air since it's much easier to use and lighter for the kids. It's a little pricey though.

Solid tablet but a big issue while charging
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.works great and fast, it feels much lighter than the older version and faster in every many ways, great cameras front and back, the only complaint is a flicking screen while charging, and inability to unlock it or sign in because when you type a letter it will be typed multiple times, but if you unplug from the charger it will work just fine, bottom line don't use it while it being charged ,i am on the iOS versin 9.2 i hope that Apple fixes this soon

It is a sold buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an IPad 2 16GB and upgrade to the iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi 64GB. What a difference. The Air 2 is liter, faster and more powerful them my old one. The picture is shaper too. The Wi-Fi is also more powerful. My download speed on my old one was around 36, which I thought was great. Now I get 126. With the same service and rotter I had before. I have cable. Plus Best Buy gave me 150 for my old one. This is a great tablet.

Great Tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older iPad 2 I got several year ago and this newer iPad Air 2 is so much faster than my old tablet. Moreover, it's lighter and the camera takes much better pictures that before. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Faster, Outstanding battery, and easy to use.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just can't say enough good about this new iPad Air. I started out with the iPad Gen. 1 and it was good. Easy to use and great for linking with Mac computers and well as Windows. But like a nut I saw the bright screen of the Samsung and with the memory card slot just felt I had to have it. Boy, that was money and time wasted. So I came back to iPad and found the Air 2 at Best Buy. Could not be happier. It is faster, and so very easy to use. Get the extra memory, can't put it in later and it is worth it.

Lighter and thinner!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new iPad Air 2 is so much lighter and thinner than my previous iPad 2nd generation. I like to read with my iPad so this one is much more comfortable to hold. This iPad runs noticeably faster too. I got the 64 gb and am glad to have the increased storage. On the down side, the difference in size means I can no longer use the various cases I had. Also, my apps seem to crash more often than expected. I think this is most likely a software issue rather than a problem with the iPad itself. Happy that I upgraded!

Easy to see window
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the pad has easy operation and a convient size. I use it in my RV as my computer and so far it has been excellent as storage space in in an RV is at a premium. I am very impressed with the quality of the photos it produces. On the negative side the battery doesnt stay charged for very long so having the ability to have a charging station is imperitive.

iPads just get keep getting lighter and faster
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my fourth iPad (1st gen, 4th gen, iPad Air, and iPad Air 2), and they just keep getting lighter and faster. My family has multiple types of tablets including Kindles, Android (both Google-branded and 3rd party) and a Surface RT, and none of these compare to the iPads and iOS. There are still a lot of apps that run on my 1st gen iPad, and iOS 9 runs on my other 3 iPads. Compare that to the other tablets - they get abandoned in the OS upgrade cycle within a couple of years (although I am shocked that Microsoft is still providing updates for the RT and it hasn't bricked yet). It was a tough call between this iPad Air 2 and the iPad Pro. Your time is valuable - why go cheap on a tablet that you will spend hundreds of hours using?
