    The iPad Air doesn't get hot the 3 did, this is the main reason I up graded to the air.

    You need to buy a bluetooth keyboard if you want to use this for editing / writing. Apples idea of editing text really is painful. They ought to provide an option to have direction (cursor) keys on a virtual keyboard.
