I enjoy my new I-pad, however I am old fashion and would prefer to have a detailed written manual to refer to as I learn and have questions. The youth of today are very connected. Some of us struggle to adapt.

I have been buying ipad since they were first released. Cannot believe how easy they are to use. I use them daily. Great for Facebook, email, reading books, newspapers and even playing games. Have many cookbooks and so many useful apps. Love my ipad!

The iPad is very user friendly, and provides me with the access to everything I need. It also works seamlessly with my iPhone and MacBook. In my opinion this is the best tablet available today.

Apple as always has a reliable and good looking tablet. The screen resolution is beautiful and I'm happy with the upgrade. I wish that Apple would price their products a little better- even though I am happy with my ipad, upgrading was a real difficult expense. I also do not like that apple products in general are too "locked down" and sometimes difficult to navigate.I realize that this is a protection on their part, but it makes it difficult especially if you are trying to be cross compatible with a PC (partially due to expense and also to how they run I will NEVER get an Apple PC/laptop). iTunes is also more expensive. To get around this I have downloaded amazon's cloud player and kindle player (among other things) and find those much more easy to work with. I use this ipad for work, reading, games, patterns, watching movies while traveling and internet.

I bought this primarily to do Facetime with my mother and grand children and it does that very well. It connects to the internet easily and the video call quality is good. The size is awkward for use as an e-reader and a mini might be a better choice if this is important to you. Transferring your own video and music to the device is nearly impossible unless you enter it in the Apple ecosystem. The case is incredibly slick and slides easily from dry hands or anything other than a perfectly flat surface. Some type of cover is essential. When a cover is added the size and light weight you paid a premium for become a joke. A non-slip surface would make the iPad Air much nicer. It comes with absolutely no documentation so if you are new to the Apple world you can test how intuitive the system actually is. I've not used the camera for anything since I have a DSLR, camcorder and pocket cameras for that purpose. The built-in speaker is quite clear for it's size. The touch screen is bright, responsive and has good color rendition but the 4:3 aspect ratio leaves a lot of black space when viewing most movies. The screen is no longer the stand out feature it once was. Tablets are an electronic Swiss army knife that perform a lot of different tasks. There are better tools for almost every function they perform but it's the total package that makes them useful. I'd give the iPad Air 5 stars if it had external storage and a non-slip case.
