Customers are saying
Customers frequently mention the iPad Air's ease of use, excellent screen size, and lightweight design. Many appreciate its long battery life and find the performance to be satisfactory. While some wish for more storage, overall the positive feedback on features like the screen and ease of use outweighs this concern. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect.

Amazing tablet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first tablet, but I'm thoroughly impressed in the 1.5 months I've owned it. The battery life is amazing (several days on standby, at least 12 hours of usage for web browsing, some videos, games#. The Apple App Store has an enormous selection of apps for whatever your needs/interests are #many of them free--I've only had to pay for 2 apps out of the ~100 I've downloaded#. The screen/image quality of the Retina screen is wonderful, and I have enjoyed watching movies and TV shows on the iPad. It is more expensive compared to other brands of tablets #maybe due to the Apple name?#, but if you are looking for a high quality tablet with a large selection of apps, this is it--especially if you already own an iPhone, as you can use the same apps and the two devices can share data with each other over iCloud. I also considered the iPad Mini 2 but the screen size was too small for me to watch movies on #especially with the black bars on the top and bottom of many movies).

A dream!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this app in so many ways: for work (as a music teacher/performer), as a graduate student (for reading research), and for just plain old fun (movies/videos, games, web surfing, photo viewing/editing). In all cases the iPad Air is superb. It's very fast, even faster than my wife's snappy 4th gen iPad, sports a tear-inducing display, and is very stable and responsive. I would have just as readily bought the Retina Mini, but I decided to go with the bigger screen for reading music scores--that's turned out to be a wise move. It should be noted that we are a bit of an Apple household; a Mac laptop, multiple iOS devices, and an AppleTV. This is one reason the Air fits so well, since I'm knee-deep in the Apple ecosystem already. Those tied more to Google/Android or other ecosystems may find the Air more limited. This was my experience when I had an Android tablet--nothing wrong with it, just couldn't do much crossover with my Apple devices. For those interested in the LTE feature: I bought a Verizon model since that's who my phone carrier is. However, I am able to avoid paying a data access fee for the iPad by simply tethering the iPad to my iPhone at no extra charge. Also, I've taken advantage of an offer from T-Mobile, whereby I use a T-Mobile SIM to get a free 200 MB of LTE data for month with no contract/commitment/paying for anything except the $10 SIM card. The T-Mobile offer alone is worth considering upgrading to LTE from a Wi-Fi only model. It's come very much in handy. The only functional issue I have with the Air is searching text in PDF's opened in Safari. This seems to overwhelm the iPad, so any PDF searching I do has to happen in one of any number of apps designed for the purpose (my go-to right now is GoodReader). One should also note that this and all iOS products lack support for flash. It is extremely rare that this causes a problem for me, so it's really a shoulder shrug in my opinion. Also, if you ever need to replace or wipe your device, I strongly advise against restoring from iCloud--for whatever reason, doing this resulted in huge battery drains post-restoration. I think you're much better off backing up any files or data that are stored locally, restoring as a *new* device, and manually adding everything back in. It sounds tedious, but will save you prolonged agony later, trust me. Overall, I consider the price I paid money extremely well spent.
