Bought this iPad 2 mini for my 4 year old daughter I she loves it! The Apple iPad Mini is popular enough now that everyone knows why it's so great. It's a lightweight, diverse utility. I'll just highlight some of the new improvements and what I love about the iPad Mini with Retina over the previous gen iPad Mini.

I purchased 2 of these around mid December 2014 as Christmas gifts for my parents. They were a hit! My parents surprisingly (as non-techy as they are) use them constantly and to this day they still thank me for getting them each their own as they have now customized each of their own tablets to their liking. They report frequently how they love all the apps they can get and use and how they can use FaceTime with my niece who lives 7hrs away from them so they don't get to see as often as they'd like and with FaceTime on their tablets (a screen significantly bigger than the single iPhone screen they were having to share before I got them the tablets) it allows them to have a better quality and bigger view of my niece during their FaceTime sessions and because they have their own now they can each have a session on their own if they choose instead of one having to wait for the other to get home or be around for a session to take place on the single iPhone. Overall, the two tablets are a hit and I feel like I got my money's worth simply in seeing my parents' happiness with this product.

This tablet is the perfect size for travel. Doesn't take up much room in my carry on, takes great photos , user friendly, and has long battery life.

I had the original ipad mini and this is smaller and the picture is a lot clearer. The processor seems faster as well. I did not get the ipad mini 3, as the only difference is the fingerprint scanner, which I did not need. I got a great case off of amazon and it feels indestructible. Great purchase, fast shipping,

The iPad mini 2 with retina display is an amazing device. Sleek, responsive, at a perfect dimension for being handheld, with an amazing display. All at a great price. Would strongly recommend it.

Purchased this for my mom to look at e-mail, Facebook and Pinterest while in her chair in the evenings...she loves it and has also gotten some good out of the camera. If it was for me, I'd want a little more storage space and a bigger screen, but she's a small lady with small hands so this is perfect!

I have a regular iPad and bought the mini to use at work on my job site. The mini is another great Apple product. It does everything the regular iPad does but conveniently fits in my back pocket. Much easier than lugging my laptop around.

The iPad Mini 2 is an awesome device. My in-laws were looking for a tablet, and this fit the bill. It is lightweight, compact, and easy to carry around. The power is great compared to the original iPad Mini, and since the 3 is the same as the 2, minus fingerprint sensor, this makes perfect sense.

Admittedly, we're an Apple family. As someone with experience with windows, linux, and mac desktop operating systems, and experience with iOS, Android, win mobile 8+, and a few others, I've always found the interoperability and quality of apple hardware/software to fit our needs best. But enough about Apple. The iPad Mini 2 was purchased for our children to use for educational apps as well as mobile entertainment for road trips. Because the iPad Mini 3 is barely better than the 2 spec wise, and with the sale Best Buy was running when we purchased the 2, it was a no-brainer. The kids use it for ABC Mouse and numerous other educational apps. They use it for digital books. We use Disney Movies Anywhere and other digital movie downloads for when we're in the car driving to visit family. And of course on bad-weather days, they use it to play games. It's the perfect educational and entertainment companion. And it's the right size too. Tack on a Speck iGuy case to keep it safe and we couldn't be happier with the purchase.

I'm a believer in apple products. Long battery life makes it so I can use it and not have to worry about plugging it in while I'm using it. Easy to use and a lot of controls to help make it a child friendly tablet. I love my ipad!

Switching from a second generation iPad to this iPad mini wasn't hard at all. It's much lighter and easier to use then it's larger sibling. It fits pleasantly in the hands and doesn't seem to get heavy after being used for an extended period of time. It's lightning fast and great for browsing the internet. It's color is crisp and sharp and I couldn't be happier.

Replaces my prior ipad, which I lost. Light enough and with high enough resolution, but fits in the pocket of my Khakis. Love the mini - full functionality at a low price. Not a retina display, but awesome nonetheless for its size. Not an air, but not exactly what you'd call heavy. Happy me.

I wanted to replace my 4th gen iPad I sold but I was not happy with pricing. Thankfully this holiday season saw plenty of discounts on full size Airs and the 2nd gen Mini. I've been using this for 4 months now and am very happy I snagged it for half the price I spent on my 4th gen two years ago (which I sold for 80% of value). Solid build, great feel and everything works with my other devices. I can recommend this to anyone who does not have a phablet but does not want to carry around a full size table constantly. This fits in my jacket nicely and allows me to preview videos I am shooting, websites at night in bed, much better than my phone.

I have the iPad 2 and bought the iPad mini for my 15-year old daughter as a birthday gift. She loves the size! She always uses her phone but loves to use the iPad mini at home cause it's a lot easier for her and the battery lasts longer than her phone. She loves it! Glad I purchased it.

use this for work, fast processor, have not experienced any issues after about 1 y of use. Almost can replace your laptop if you add a BT keyboard. Love the retina display, only regret is I wish I bought one w/bigger storage, 16gb is not enough, but otherwise this is indispensable.

I'm using the retina iPad mini right now as I write this review. I loved the original mini because of the amazing build quality and comfortable size. Now it is essentially all the good things we had before but with crystal sharp display and powerful processor. Best deal under $300.

I had an outdated e-reader so I was hoping that the mini iPad was going to be a replacement for it and for my phone when it comes to watching downloaded television content while traveling. The iPad mini seems to meet those needs for me; however, I feel that that my iPhone is just as quick (or faster) with certain tasks making me wonder if I should've waited for the iPad mini 4, rumored to be released in a few months.
