The iPad mini is great for travel, small enough to fit in a purse but big enough to play games, pay bills, do research, etc

Santa got this for my 9 year old daughter and it has held up, even without a case for the first few months! Light weight, durable, good for bigger kids.

I owned an ipad 2 before and really didn't like how big and heavy it was. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the mini but it's been great. The size is perfect for commutes.

This tablet is large enough to watch a movie on during a long flight yet small enough to fit in my bag when I'm done. It replaced my full sized iPad and I love it.

I use this for a wide variety of tasks, from watching Netflix to checking email to updating my lesson plans if I have to be out of my classroom. The battery life is great, even when streaming. It is small enough to be conveniently portable, but big enough to be a good viewing size or for typing on screen. I got the slightly bigger memory, because my 6-year old loves to take pictures with it.

Screen image quality is great, faster than my previous iPad

This the fourth iPad in our family of two, beginning with a preorder for the original version in 2010. This is our first mini, and it is for my wife, who uses the iPad mostly for email, web browsing, and ebook reading. For those purposes, the more compact and lightweight mini is a good choice since she mostly uses it in a casual setting rather than at a desk. We got the 32MB Mini 2 rather than the 64MB Mini 3 since she doesn't need the extra storage and the price was enticing.

Purchased 1st edition ipad on the day of first availabity and tracked its shipment from the factory to my front door doorbell ringing.I have used it daily since it's arrival within days of the original 's availability. My new mini with retina screen and the a 07 chip performs above and beyond what I anticipated APPLE is the only way to go when purchasing a tablet reliablety, performance unequaled by social climbers.

It's heavier than I would like. My daughter's kindle is much lighter. But I love the fact that it can interact and share all information with my iPhone (including the ability to make phone calls). I got the Logitech slim Bluetooth keyboard to go with it and it works just like a laptop. I can also watch movies on the go. Glad I bought it.
