We have a galaxy tab 2, but the processing power is slow, so we used it solely for Netflix. The "handoff" ability between devices is AWESOME! We went to best buy just to look at the iPad minis, but decided it was worth the extra money to get the mini 3. The processing speed blows our other tablet out of the water. The retina display is excellent.

The best 8" tablet

However, it has nothing on the 2nd generation mini aside from touch ID. It is NOT worth $100 more retail. The 9.7" Air 2 is far more advanced (64-bit, processor clock, camera, construction) than anything else from Apple. Wait for the 4th mini (October/November), buy this one during a great sale, buy the 2nd mini, or buy the Air 2. Do NOT pay full price for this. And needless to say, do NOT buy the first generation mini (it won't be in stock much longer anyway). I would not recommend this to a friend if it cost more than $299.
