Let my start by saying that I am typically an android guy. Every phone I've purchased since the iPhone 4 has been an android device. So I was originally looking to buy an android tablet, but IMO the options are lackluster if you are looking for a higher end tablet. Adjusting to the UI has been a bit of an annoyance (especially for things that android does better), but overall This iPad fit the bill best for the type of tablet I was looking for. It's very portable and great for reading the news, browsing the web, and watching videos. Its size makes it very convenient to carry on trips or just when you're running errands and are going to be stuck waiting for a while. The build quality is exactly what you would expect from Apple, excellent. My only complaint is that the aspect ratio causes a reduction in the playable video area for Netflix and other videos. The large black bars can be somewhat annoying. Overall, I would recommend this to others including my fellow android aficionados looking for a more promising tablet than the current android offerings.

Bought this for my toddler daughter to watch movies and play games, it is excellent size to transport around.
