As someone who already owns an iMac, a MacBook Pro and an iPhone, I wanted something in between that was convenient for travel, especially on planes. The screen size is perfect for reading books and isn't too shabby for watching Netflix etc either. I find it's easier to hold than the larger iPad sizes - if I wanted something like that, I'd just use my computer quite honestly.

I think these are the best tablets on the market and Apple keeps the iOS updated regularly. I have had iPads since they came out and really haven't had any problems and my original still works fine just liked the smaller lighter size of the iPad mini. I also like the ease of use of the Apple products and will continue to buy them because they connect with each other well and with only a few buttons they have been very reliable. I prefer the size of the the mini over the iPad Air it's big enough to read and play games and small enough to take with me to Dr. appointments or kids practices etc. I feel you get what you pay for in Apple products and they seem reliable but suggest a case just to protect from dropping and suggest a Zagg screen protector just to be safe.

So I bought an open box iPad mini 4 128 Gb. As an opened box item it was about $80 cheaper, did not come with the original box but came with all accessories. No scratches and works perfectly! So it was opened and someone else has touched it? It works great and was cheaper. No complaints! Plus the employee assured me of heir trust in open items and was very helpful.

I use this iPad for testing the newest iOS releases beta or not. It's pretty good but a model update hasn't been released for about two years.
