I moved from a gen 5 to this gen 7 and am generally liking it. Bigger screen on a smaller body & added flash are my favourite things. It's supposed to be peppier than my 5, and have better resolution, but I don't notice it that much, And happily, the weight remains the same. The touch button is now on the side and is quite narrow, making it very sensitive to recognizing my fingerprint; it takes a few touches sometimes. Also, the interface is now one usb-c (no more 3.5 jack) so although I am able to use my charger from my macbook air, I needed to order new headphones and can't charge and take a call at the same time. The purple is more of a cool rosy grey and very nice. I adore my ipad mini and use it tons. Way better than a smaller phone for reading, games etc, but portable enough to take most places. Because there's still no true phone, his time I decided to skip the cell feature and use my dumbphone as a hotspot when I'm away from wifi. TBH, I use my google phone way more than my phone.

I recently got the iPad mini and honestly I like it a lot more than I expected. The first thing I noticed is how small and light it is. It’s really easy to carry around in my bag or even hold with one hand, which makes it super convenient when I’m moving around or going to class. Even though it’s small, the screen still looks really good. Videos, notes, and apps all look clear and bright. Another thing I like is how fast it feels. Apps open quickly and I haven’t had issues with it lagging. I mostly use it for taking notes, watching videos, and doing some schoolwork, and it handles all of that really well. It also works with the Apple Pencil, which makes it nice for writing notes or drawing. The battery life is also pretty solid. I can use it for several hours during the day without worrying about charging it right away. That’s helpful when I’m on campus or away from home. One thing I will say is that the screen is smaller than a regular iPad, so if you like a bigger display for multitasking or watching movies, it might feel a little cramped. But for me the portability makes up for it. Overall, I think the iPad mini is a great device if you want something powerful but really easy to carry around. It’s simple to use, fast, and perfect for everyday things like school, reading, and entertainment.

Compact Powerhouse – Perfect Everyday iPad

I recently picked up the Apple iPad mini (A17 Pro chip) – 128GB Wi-Fi – Blue, and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The new A17 Pro chip makes this little device insanely fast. Apps open instantly, multitasking is smooth, and even heavier tasks like photo editing and gaming run without a hiccup. For something this compact, the performance feels on par with much larger tablets. The size is what really makes it special. It’s lightweight, easy to hold with one hand, and perfect for reading, watching videos, note-taking, or browsing in bed or on the go. It fits easily in a small bag but still gives you that crisp, vibrant Retina display Apple is known for. The blue color looks clean and modern — subtle but premium. Battery life has been great so far, easily lasting me through a full day of regular use. With Apple Intelligence features built in, everything feels more fluid and integrated. It’s a great balance of portability and power. If you want something more powerful than a basic tablet but don’t need a full-size iPad, this is the sweet spot. Highly recommend.

    Small Size, Big Power!

The iPad Mini is exactly what I was looking for — lightweight, fast, and easy to carry anywhere. The display is stunning: sharp, colorful, and bright enough for videos and games. The A15 Bionic chip makes multitasking smooth, and apps open instantly without lag. Battery life easily lasts a full day with regular use, and the updated slim-bezel design feels modern and premium. It’s the perfect balance between a phone and a full-size iPad — big enough for reading, streaming, or note-taking, but small enough to fit in a bag or even hold comfortably with one hand. If you need something powerful but compact, this is the best choice. I’m really happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for portability without sacrificing performance.

Apple IPad Mini 17 Why the hype?

I replaced my 10+ year old mini iPad with the new A17 mini. Granted, it is a little faster, but other than that, no change for the better. The screen is not clearer. The shapes of the power plugs have been changed so my older iPad cords and newer iPhone cords will not work with it Plus, the changes in where the power plugs are located has changed, so I had to buy a new case. I understand that anyone reading this will be thinking that I am being difficult by criticizing that new cords and cases are required; however, let’s remember all of the waste that is generated by having to throw out old items. Microsoft, and all companies, need to think about the future of our environment. Start saving on production and resource costs. Focus less on profit and start reducing waste.

I bought the newest iPad Mini this year on Mother’s Day as a gift for my wife, and she absolutely loves it. It’s the perfect size — not too big, not too small — and super lightweight, which makes it easy for her to use around the house or take on the go. The screen is sharp and vibrant, and the performance is smooth for everything she does — from watching videos to FaceTime, note-taking, and even light photo editing. The battery life easily lasts her all day, and the build quality feels premium like you’d expect from Apple. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, everyday-use iPad that doesn’t feel bulky but still delivers great power, this is the one to go with.

The new iPad mini with the A17 chip is an absolute beast in a compact package. Apple finally gave the mini the performance boost it deserved, and the difference is obvious from the moment you turn it on. Apps launch instantly, multitasking is buttery smooth, and even graphics-heavy games run with zero lag. Despite the huge jump in power, the device stays cool and battery life is surprisingly strong—I can get through a full day of mixed use without worrying about charging. The lightweight design and portable size remain unmatched, making it perfect for travel, note-taking, reading, and quick creative work. The display is bright, crisp, and responsive, and pairing it with the latest Apple Pencil turns it into the perfect on-the-go sketchbook or productivity device. It feels like a mini-Pro without the bulk or the price tag. If you love the iPad mini’s form factor but always wished for desktop-class performance, this is the upgrade that finally delivers. Fast, portable, and incredibly capable—hands down the best iPad mini yet.

The iPad mini is a fantastic blend of power and portability. Its compact size makes it incredibly easy to hold with one hand, slip into a bag, or take on the go, yet it doesn’t sacrifice performance. The display is crisp, bright, and perfect for everything from reading and streaming to browsing and light productivity. What really stands out is how fast and responsive it feels—apps open quickly, multitasking is smooth, and it handles everyday tasks effortlessly. The battery life is also impressive, lasting through a full day of regular use without needing a recharge. The iPad mini is especially great for people who want something more capable than a phone but more convenient than a full-sized tablet. Whether you're reading, watching videos, checking email, or even taking notes, it delivers a premium experience in a smaller package. Overall, it’s a powerful little device that proves you don’t need a big screen to get big performance. I brought this for my 3 grandchildren ages 2 to 5 for entertainment

    Perfect tool for Clinical Educator

In my role as a clinical educator, I am constantly walking around and evaluating trainees as they demonstrate competency in new techniques and procedures. This tool along with the Apple Pencil Pro are invaluable for note taking in real time. This tool also allows me to send vital reports in real time. The small size makes it far less intrusive when standing next to trainees. Of course, if you are in the Apple ecosystem, the iPad Mini makes even more sense. I considered the Remarkable Paper Pro Move but it does not support any features that I need to get the job done. This tool has done wonders helping me meet deadlines. The battery lasts all day and I don’t miss calls because it is an extension of my iPhone. This is the best pocketable notebook I’ve ever used. It fits in my lab coat, or cargo pants pocket.

    Small Tablet, Big Performance

    |
    |
    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

From a performance standpoint, the A17 Pro chip feels like a sprint compared to my old tablet — apps launch instantly, multitasking feels robust (especially for a tablet this size), and even graphic-heavy tasks stay smooth. It handles everything I throw at it from note-taking in meetings to streaming videos and creative work without a hiccup. That aligns with broader market feedback on performance and speed, which consistently tops reviewer sentiment. Portability is the killer feature. The compact 8.3-inch form factor feels futuristic in a world of oversized devices — ideal for travel, reading on the go, and one-handed use. It fits neatly into bags or purses, making it an everyday carry device, not something relegated to the desk. Users on Best Buy frequently highlight size and portability as major wins. Battery life is solid for all-day use, and the Apple Intelligence integration makes daily tasks smarter — predictive text, context-aware suggestions, and intelligent shortcuts are genuinely helpful. The Starlight finish also looks cleaner and more refined in person than product shots suggested. If I had to nitpick, it’s that Apple didn’t go full pro — there’s no Face ID, and the display refresh rate isn’t high-end gaming level — but those tradeoffs feel strategic rather than sloppy given the price and overall package. Most reviewers echo this pragmatic view of excellence with minor quibbles. Conclusion: If you want a premium, ultraportable tablet built for real-world use and next-generation intelligence features, this iPad mini is the best small tablet I’ve used. It’s not just an Apple product — it’s a strategic tool for work, creativity, and play. -Rya

    Near Perfect "Mini" Tablet

    |

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It's the best "mini" tablet on the market. It performs great, runs most games and apps without issue. The screen is bright and clear, and has touch id for screen and app unlocking. Personally, I find the more common 11 inch tablets to be too big to comfortably hold, and needed something smaller with a 8-9" screen. Unfortunately, most of the small tablet options are either really underpowered (kindle fire HD8), or miss basic quality of life features like a fingerprint sensor (Lenovo Legion Tab). I had the very similar previous gen 6 ipad mini, and really enjoyed using it. The only downside was the base storage was only 64 GB. This gen 7 version comes with 128 GB base storage, which is more than enough for lots of apps and games. It's also so often discounted by 20% from it's MSRP, almost to the point where that is the "normal" price. For this A17 ipad mini, there are some issues with "jelly scrolling," but for most casual users it's barely noticeable. Also, the screen is a 60 Hz LCD panel, so if you really need a higher refresh screen, then you should look elsewhere. Aside from those issues though, I personally feel that this ipad mini is the best general use mini-tablet available. It's also one of the few good performing mini-tablets that also offers 5G cellular connectivity as an option.
