Adapter is needed for newer iPhones. No lost of audio and no distortions when connected with headphones and the iPhone.

I have many pairs of headphones with a standard wire. None of these work with the newer iPhones that only have a lightning connector. By plugging in this simple adapter, you can now easily use all of the headphones you currently have in your home. This works perfectly and is so easy to use. Good for what it's supposed to do i.e. let you use universal headphone jacks with your overpriced iPhone. This product should have been completely unnecessary, but it gets the job done.

It's an Apple product. So you basically know what you're getting. Unless you plan on using bluetooth for audio, YOU GONNA NEED THIS.
