It's weird, because Apple has it so the headphone port on their macbook/air is the old 3.5mm jack but if you have a newer iPhone, it would've come with a lightning jack headphone set... so sometimes having this adapter makes things easier to go back and forth. Definitely essential if you buy over-ear third-party headphones, which I did.

After attaching to my phone and plugging it into the speaker’s auxiliary cable we had music and I saved the day.

Since I didn't have any place to plug my earphones into my cell phone, I couldn't watch anything. The flight attendant told me about this device, and I just purchased it. No more problems for my next United flight in August.

Bought a pack for less than $7. Turns out each one had a static problem. I immediately returned them and went to my local Best Buy to purchase these. As you have heard many times, you get what you pay for and this is true for this item. Please if you need a 3.5mm adapter, just buy the official one instead of wasting your time on another website!

Fortunately, I was able to grab one of these quickly, along with my headphone to composite cord. Everything worked great and hopefully I will not lose this one.
