Its a Dongle

The dongle is short and allows connection to a myriad of headphones and other audio devices.

Solves the headphone jack problem

Works great, got it for a great price since I bought my phone used and it didn't come with this piece

A necessity for legacy headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.With Apple eliminating the earphone jack on the newer iPhones, any one with a legacy headphone or earpieces requiring a headphone jack must buy this accessory. The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because this should be included with new iPhone purchases (I just bought a XS Max). Apple nickel-and-dimming on a $10 accessory having shelling out over $1,200 for a new iPhone is ridiculous!
