With Apple, it may be expensive, but it will work. This product fits both descriptions. Hopefully you can find it on sale, but it works well.

This is an official Apple product, works great. This is not a cheap knock off version. As described does what its supposed to do.

If you want the phone capability, it is not really worth looking at the alternatives. The official Apple converter handles phone calls and all other functions perfectly and for those that want to plug a 3.5mm headphone jack in to a newer phone, this is the one to get. Apple used to provide this with the phones but have stopped recently. It's a pain to buy something additional but worth it, especially if you have noise cancelling headphones you want to use with the phone like I do. Works great, right out of the (tiny) box!

My granddaughter just loves it! She is able to connect her headphones now since Apple dropped the headphone jack from the Iphone.

Gives best crystal clear sound quality. Definitely deserves recommendation. Get it if you want to use your IPhone 7 onwards with your old wired headphones.

it's crazy that apple would get rid of the headphone jack. But with think product it does make it easier. And the people at Best Buy knew right where it was.

Does the job needed for connecting 3.5mm cable to lightning port on phone

Now with a new iPhone there is no more headphone outlet and I have these great Bose headphones that I want to use. So this adapter does the job.

Works great on my I phone. I can't stand wireless plugs, so this works great and let's me keep using regular wired buds.

I bought this just so I have one in my car, at home, and at work! I love apple products but this is a little frustrating but I am happy with where they're headed!
