This product does not do that.

I wish they had a small scrap on it so I could attach it to the cord and not lose it but that's apple for you.

The adapter itself is on point and needed if you don’t have Bluetooth headphones.

But when I bought this, I also purchased air pods so it was kind of mute point. He has the adapter if he needs it
