With physical real estate on iPhones a scarce commodity, I understand why Apple chose to instead use the Lightning port for wired audio devices. Not much frill in an audio dongle, just to say it works as it should. The price was fair. Bluetooth earbuds are fine but they seem to either lose charge and die quicker than advertised or get lost due to their small size. Wired headsets are cheap, plentiful and work just as well except in the certain situations where a wire gets in the way.

The 3.5 mm connection to Lightning is exactly what I needed to have an external mic operate through the IPhone 7+. As the host of radio talk programs, I use the IPhone 7+ with an app that allows me to broadcast through the phone. This connector gives me full broadcast quality and is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to use an external mic through their IPhone.

Although I hate having to use an adaptor just to plug in my headphones, the review is based on whether or not this works. It works, but it would be nice if these were included with an iphone instead of having to shell out more money yet again. I bought wireless headphones since getting this, so I guess it's a backup if I forget to charge those up.

Another product that I always keep around. I have several of these. My iphone doesn't have a convenient headphone jack. I keep a cord plugged into my Aux port in my car and this allows me to plug into my phone. I have music and navigation from my phone to my car stereo.

THIS ITEM IS THE BEST IF YOU HAVE REGULAR HEADPHONES AND NEED TO CONNECT TO YOUR ACTUAL PHONE. I WAS ANNOYED ON HOW I COULDN'T CONNECT TO MY PHONE

If you have an iPhone that no longer has a headphone jack, you're going to want this ugly as sin dongle. You're going to want that dongle for use with any of your wired headphones and earbuds. This is also good for connecting professional video mics to be used while shooting video.

I totally LOVE this! Sleeping with a partner left me unable to check music, email and shop. Awake long into the night or riding in the car, this enables me to connect my Bose ear pieces to my phone and shut off all audible sound except for what I hear. Worth it’s weight in gold!

Even if you want Bluetooth headphones or have any auxiliary ports left in your life. This is it for you and you need it for the new iPhone. Basically a must. When your battery dies in your Bluetooth doesn’t work you can just plug it right into your phone. Everyone who has the new iPhone should have one of those as well

I love being able to use regular headphones to both listen to and watch my favorites videos and movies.

We needed to connect the Apple music on our iPads and iPhones to our Bose system and the salesman at BestBuy took us right to the cords that we would need. They work beautifully!

I was so upset when I had to get a new iPhone and had no idea it no longer had an earphone jack. Thank goodness they make these! I use it for listening to my phone in the car, noise cancelling headphone for mowing the lawn and earphones for walking my dog. Works perfectly!

It was interesting for me when upgrading from my iPhone 6S Plus to the iPhoneX max that my headphones would no longer fit. This adapter does what it's supposed to do, and it was fairly inexpensive. I did love the fact that I ordered it online and less than 30 mins when I was at Best Buy it was ready to pick up, great service. Thanks Best Buy!

Adapter is easy to use, convenient, and very durable.

After reviewing several other ones, I went with the one made by Apple for several reasons. For one. It works with any wired headset with a microphone. And for two, you can use a regular y splitter to listen with a friend. Thirdly, the quality is top notch.

Much needed accessory when you are still reliant upon 3.5 mm headphones when using updated iPhones. I have a Boeing noise canceling headphones and had to upgrade my phone and was glad to have found the adapter so I didn’t feel my expensive headphones was going to waste.
