    I still don't know why Apple did this, but these little adapters are a lifesaver! I have one in each car and in several rooms in the house because they are easy to lose.

    This connection is needed for those of you who bought an updated iPhone which doesn't have a headphone jack. So, you have to plug your wired headphones via this connection.
