    The product is the same one you would get at the Apple store. It works bidirectionally, allowing you to use the microphone as well as the speakers. This is not true for some of the cheaper adapters. Best Buy had it for a dollar off on their website and I was able to get the store to match the price. I would like it to have a more substantial wire but I have not had one break yet.
