Wish this dongle wasn't necessary, but it is. Fortunately it's also pretty inexpensive so you can have several of them around since you're probably going to lose one. Works flawlessly with wired headphones on iPhones without headphone jacks.

Not only does this work great for new phone, but it has fixed expensive problem with daughters iPad! Her headphone jack broke and now she can use this for her headphones and we are all so happy!

I have a blue tooth stereo in my car. My iPhone 6 worked well, but for some reason, my iPhone 8 won't connect. So, got an auxiliary cord, but then realized it wouldn't work with my new phone. This little jewel does the trick! I am now able to listen to iTunes once again on my stereo.

I had to buy this adapter so I could use my Bose wired earbuds with my iPhone. Works perfectly and small enough to fit in the Bose case. A bonus that the price was knocked down a few dollars.

If you have any older headphones you need this adapter so they work with the new phone. No round plug in on phone and no adapter in the box. Apple could have been nice and included it with purchase, but save a trip back to the store and pick one up when you buy the new iPhone XS

New apple phones (water proof) removed the hole plug in spot 4 earbuds etc etc so u need the adapter to plug in2 ur apple I phone in the same place ur charger plugs in2..of course apple is 2 flipping cheat to supply u w/1 seeing they removed the hole insert...

great easy to hook up and use works perfectly have had no problems using this adapter with my phone .

I have about 8 of these for use with higher end headphones and they work great to let my Iphone (7 and 10) talk to my wired headphones. Works for both listening and talking on headphones. A little pricey like all products from the big A.

If you have one of the latest iphones, then this adapter is just what you will need to use your existing pods or headphones with a 3.5mm jack. All the new iphones did away with the 3.5mm headphone jack and do everything now thru the lightning jack. Works perfectly for my needs.

This cabke is small usefull and very good to have when you dont have any bluetooth or apple car play options.

Connects my new iPhone to 3.5 mm cables or headphones. Might not need it in a few years since everything is going wireless, but in the meantime this works like it's supposed to. Compact, reliable, and inexpensive. Might get lost easy though, but that's on me.

Awesome!! I needed a way to connect my credit card reader to my new iPhone X. Since the new phone does not have a "headphone" jack, i tried this to connect me CC reader. Works great, I can now swipe credit cards with my iPhone!!

I lost my adapter for my iPhone 7, so I purchased the stock replacement for it. I've read mixed reviews for aftermath adapters, so I used that information to buy the genuine Apple adapter. Having to need an adapter for the iPhone 7 is the one thing I do not like about the phone, but I understand this new feature allows the iPhone to be water resistant. If I were to drop my iPhone in a pool accidentally etc, I will appreciate the fact I need an adapter. Otherwise the phone is toast.

I tried a couple of generic branded cables with my iPhone 7 and my Bose headsets and they would work for 30 - 60 seconds and then generate an unsupported device error. This cable has never had that problem and is working the way it should. Stick to the Apple brand on this one.

Pretty straightforward cable -- allows you headphone capability with any lightning connection. Play tablet games silently or use it to connect your tablet or lightning iDevice to any convention analog TRS connection. (Also very affordable compared to other specialized Apple cables).

Obviously apple made the iPhone 7 this way to make more money but honestly this thing works great, I'm pretty sure it even makes the sound louder and more clear. I would recommend getting the apple connecter rather than any off brand cheap-o one. It's not a bad price either for an apple product!
