It's the only way you can use your headset for iphone 7 plus. You cannot use your headset and charge at the same time, unless you have the dual one.

Needed a lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter, read reviews that the generic didn't work properly, and went with the OEM, and it works fine.

This adapter works great with my iPhone 7. Just wish you could charge your phone while using it but that is Apple’s issue not the adapter.

Works great. I keep my AirPods and corded with me and I plug this into my AirPod case so I don’t lose it. Also keep one in the car
