I am using the Apple Lightning-to-3.5mm Headphone Adapter to connect a Joby microphone to my iPhone. It works great! I know the description states headphone but you can also use it to attach a microphone.

adapter is necessary to be able to Use your earphones. it wont slip out. I like that the extender makes the cord slightly longer.

I bought some cheap knock off ones elsewhere thinking they'd be the same as the original Apple ones. I was wrong. These not only work with headphones but they work for standalone microphones. I was needing them to convert the standard lavalier microphone to be used on iPhone.

The Apple - Lightning-to-3.5mm Headphone Adapter is definitely a plus for anyone with an iPhone 7 who wishes to connect to a device that requires a 3.5mm jack as input. And if you have several such devices, I would highly recommend acquiring multiple headphone adapters that can be kept with each of your audio devices.

This saved my legacy headphones from extinction. Works well with all of them. We had one of these when Apple decided to go the lightning route, but because of its size, we lost it somehow. Sound come through cleanly from what I can tell.

I just needed a replacement charging cable. Some of the other brands are so hit and miss that I find if I just stick to apple products I don't need to worry about incompatibilities and nuisance messaging that the cable is not compatible with apple phones.

This adapter was amazing! OMG, it plugs into your iphone and allows your old school headphones to work! I'm blown away by the quality and performance of this adapter. It literally "adapts" . I hope one day that apple comes out with an off white version as the white version is just a little too white for me
