You can adapt the 3.5mm plug on your headphones to the Apple Lightening plug and still be able to use any controls on your headphones including phone controls and music controls. Volume, skip forward, skip backward, and pause all work with this adapter as well as the mic.

Very good product for when you want to blast music on the way to work.

This was a lifesaver. I went straight from a 6s Plus with headphone jack to the XS Max with only the lightning port. That was a very long two weeks of no music. Sad and depressing commutes. This works perfectly if your vehicle doesn’t support Bluetooth or usb connectivity.

It is required if you want to use wired speakers with iPhone 7 but is very easy to lose so be careful where you leave it.

This thing works. You can play old school headphones on a new iPhone, and they still sound the way they should.

I purchased this thinking it was one that would go into the headphone port not charging port. all in all it is good

Does the job, just what I needed, and wanted, works perfectly.

It’s good to have a few of these for different locations in case you forget to bring it, however, being that you’re paying so much for the device itself and it’s just very widely available components, these should not cost more than $8. Apple overprice everything.

My original adapter stopped working for some reason so went to Best Buy and found this replacement. Worked as expected.

I bought an “off brand” adapter that lasted me a week. Always stick to buying Apple cords for your products. Off brand cords are cheaply made and quit working after only a short period of time. Yes, they are cheap but you have to keep repurchasing so you end up spending the same amount, or more.

So I purchased Bose headphones and albeit my fault for not realizing I would need this adapter for my phone in order to play, the adapter performed perfectly, the EarPods were defective!! So I returned them and got a wireless set, which I’ll review next, they are awful as well!

Really wish Apple hadn’t gotten rid of the headphone jack, but this is a good compromise if you have wired headphones

Had my new iPhone 8 for only a few weeks. This adapter allows me to play music and Podcasts from my phone over the audio connection in my car. One sample of this adapter came with my phone, but I misplaced it. Best Buy had the drop-in, Apple-branded, replacement product at the right price!

With iPhone 7 this adapter is a must in my car that only has an audio jack. Bought it stand-alone so I wouldn’t have to remember to get the adapter that came with my phone every time I got in the car. For $10 it was a great convenience to me to have the Apple product instead of a knockoff brand.

Loved it . I was able to use older headphones. Such as a wired Bose set I’ve had for Years.

Works perfectly, its just a shame that its needed. Really don't see the problem with a 3.5mm jack socket.

Just what was needed to make new earbuds compatible. A little expensive but necessary

I was looking for the audio adapter to connect my iphone to car system & found this at such a great price. My car has an iPod setup however it won’t link to my phone so I was so pleased to be able to buy this at a great discounted price but even the regular price is decent

I’m not going to get into an argument about getting rid of the headphone jack. They did. At least they provide a fairly priced adapter so you can use the old headphones. Would have been nice to have it so you can also charge, but I can live with it. An accessory from Apple that’s not overpriced.
