We use this for not only headphones with 3.5 connector but also lapel mic with 3.5 connector to be able to use external mic with the iPhone

This is a solid product that is necessary for connecting my 3.5 mm headphones to my lightening devices. Expensive and annoying but necessary.

after buying and trying to unsuccessfully use a non Apple branded adapter, confirm that this one works. use it to plug into vehicle head unit via a standard 1/8" input

This serves it purpose! Purchased to use wired earbuds with the iPhone 13. Plug this piece into your phone and your earbuds into this piece and you have headphone for your iPhone 13. The downside is that you cannot charge your iPhone while using. (I’m not into wireless technologies too much). Not sure how long this piece will last, though, cause Apple wires seem to turtle neck and come apart after a while. It hasn’t happened yet but I’m waiting.

Now I can use my favorite wired headphones. They sound great and there is no loss of volume.

I enjoy my apple products. I have to buy new pieces because I lose things. Great quality and moderately priced.

If you have standard headphones, and want them to fit into your iPhone, you really need this adapter. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the last one I bought lasted less than two years before it started causing some electrical feedback interference, which lead me to by another one.

Needed this adapter for my 3.5mm headphones when I upgraded to iPhone 7Plus making them useable again. An apple product but cheaper than buying from an Apple Store.

I use this piece in my car to connect to my AUX cord. After 2 years of heavy use, it still works and hasn't bent or worn at the neck.

Must have to rescue legacy headphones to use the lightning port. The price is a bit high for what it is, but it works great.
