This works well with music as well as answering calls (mic). They should have included a lightning port as well to charge the phone simultaneously.

This adapter is necessary to be able to play music through wired headphones due to Apple's move to the lightening connector. I only bought this one as a backup to one I had left behind. I am giving it four stars because I don't like having to use this adapter.
