I love this device. When going on vacation, I would bring my iPad and then need to download pictures from my cameras onto the iPad. However, before this devise, it was time consuming and difficult at times, to find Wifi and connect camera to iPad via bluetooth/ wi-fi and then download pictures. With this device, just insert memory card from camera into devise and plug into iPad, and instantly you can download your pictures!

There's not much I can say about the lightning SD card reader; it works. It doesn't take much time to copy 24MP RAW photos off of an SDXC card I have onto my iPad Pro so I can quickly edit them. It took only a couple of minutes to copy over 300 photos onto the iPad, the speed was actually a bit faster than my Mac Mini using its built-in SDXC card reader. Videos are quickly copied over too. I do wish that you could actually copy movies and other content over (you technically can copy movies over, they'll just be in your photos labeled as "home videos") but this is a nice accessory for people who want to edit their photos right on their iPads without having to lug around a notebook or go back to a desktop. Imported RAW (and JPEG) photos work with Photoshop Express, Photoshop Fix, Lightroom, and Photoshop Mix without issues.

I have an older 5 series Nokia camera that does not have wifi and is not compatible with the wifi adapter. This adapter lets me download photos right off the card to my iPhone without waiting to get to my computer. The interface to download on the IPhone sees the card immediately. It's very easy to download all and either keep or remove from the card. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the interface could be a bit better for downloading select images, but that is more in the iPhone side and not the adapter and may be fixed with future software updates.

We bought this adapter for my parents after determining the built-in WiFi of their new DSLR camera was too difficult to get connected to their phone to download the pictures. Before I could get it to them, my wife used it and loved it. We've been using an Eye-Fi card, which works fairly well, but this adapter is so much faster and easier to use. I'm heading back to buy another one soon!

Works perfectly as described. I am able to transfer raw photos and 4k videos to my iPhone from my Sony a7riii. I had to research to learn that 4k videos need to be accessed through the Files app on the iPhone, and photos through the Photos app. Great product

Typical Apple quality, better than after-market products. 3 stars because this item cost over $30 just to transfer photos. Apple's proprietary ios software will not allow a simple drag and drop function without syncing through itunes to manage photo folders, so expensive adapters like this one is their thin offering to compromise. I have 3 ipads, but there will be no more. After just a few years, my oldest Mini has been reduced to a coaster, because Apple no longer supports that version and it will no longer update software. This means that most of my apps on it no longer run. The hardware is in perfect condition, and the battery is still strong, but it barely has any functioning apps on it anymore. Soon, my ipad Pro will follow. Apple makes quality products with a built-in obsolescence of around 5 years. That's shameful. I am typing this review on my $99 Amazon Fire Tablet which, if not for the crappy camera, poorer display, and inadequate App Store (because of their feud with Google), it runs circles around ios in its ease-of-use. So in summary, Apple hardware is great, their software is not.

    1) Open photos on iPhone/iPad 2) Plug adapter into lightning port 3) Insert Memory card into adapter. 4) Import photos/videos onto iPhone. Simple to use and provides everything I need to not have to carry a laptop everywhere to import and edit my photos from my memory cards. It’s a very fast process.

It's been a year and a half since I've owned this dongle, and it hasn't failed once. The transfer speed is not the fastest, but in a pickle, does the job. I'm a fan of using wifi transfers or going straight to the computer to download raw photos, but like I mentioned, sometimes you're not close to a computer and the ipad is the closest to a photography workstation.
