We bought this adapter for my parents after determining the built-in WiFi of their new DSLR camera was too difficult to get connected to their phone to download the pictures. Before I could get it to them, my wife used it and loved it. We've been using an Eye-Fi card, which works fairly well, but this adapter is so much faster and easier to use. I'm heading back to buy another one soon!

Simple to use and provides everything I need to not have to carry a laptop everywhere to import and edit my photos from my memory cards. It’s a very fast process.

It's been a year and a half since I've owned this dongle, and it hasn't failed once. The transfer speed is not the fastest, but in a pickle, does the job. I'm a fan of using wifi transfers or going straight to the computer to download raw photos, but like I mentioned, sometimes you're not close to a computer and the ipad is the closest to a photography workstation.

Works perfectly as described. I am able to transfer raw photos and 4k videos to my iPhone from my Sony a7riii. I had to research to learn that 4k videos need to be accessed through the Files app on the iPhone, and photos through the Photos app. Great product

Typical Apple quality, better than after-market products.
3 stars because this item cost over $30 just to transfer photos.
Apple's proprietary ios software will not allow a simple drag and drop function without syncing through itunes to manage photo folders, so expensive adapters like this one is their thin offering to compromise. I have 3 ipads, but there will be no more. After just a few years, my oldest Mini has been reduced to a coaster, because Apple no longer supports that version and it will no longer update software. This means that most of my apps on it no longer run. The hardware is in perfect condition, and the battery is still strong, but it barely has any functioning apps on it anymore. Soon, my ipad Pro will follow.
Apple makes quality products with a built-in obsolescence of around 5 years. That's shameful. I am typing this review on my $99 Amazon Fire Tablet which, if not for the crappy camera, poorer display, and inadequate App Store (because of their feud with Google), it runs circles around ios in its ease-of-use.
So in summary, Apple hardware is great, their software is not.

I took this on my trip to Israel, along with my Nikon D80. I used it to download pix from my SD card to my iPhone every time I got back on the tour bus, roughly 50 - 100 pix at a time. In seconds, I had a copy of the JPG’s. Only thing that would make it better would be the ability to copy the RAW files as well for a true full backup of the SD card.

I really use this when on the go and want to quickly upload and edit a photo on my iPhone for social media. Just place into my iPhone X it automatically brings up the photos on the memory card. Download those I want to edit, transfer to Lightroom Mobile an I'm done. It's also really great for sharing photos quickly with friends that were captured with either a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera.

This is an essential tool for my workflow. I can leave my laptop at home and use this adapter to import RAW photos from my camera into my iPhone/iPad and begin editing right away. With the use of Lightroom mobile, I can import the photos and start editing while I'm out and then continue once I get home to main editing station. Great for photographers who wants to utilize their iOS devices on the go

If you like using your regular camera with an SD card to take pictures at family gathering etc. then this is a necessity! I can take pictures with my camera, then take the SD card out and pop it in one end of this Lightening camera reader and plug the other end into my iPhone to transfer the pictures to my iPhone. I can then send them to everyone off my iPhone. It's awesome!!

This card reader works great with our iPhones and iPad. You just have to plug it into ur device and insert the SD card into the bottom of the reader and your pictures are instantly downloaded. We went around the house looking for all our SD cards and had fun loading them and looking at all the old pictures we forgot we had on digital cameras. Very reasonably priced and worth it.

Allows me to quickly and easily transfer photos from my camera SD card to my iPad. Plug in, open photos, select import, select photos to import and boom. Easier and faster than trying to transfer from the cameras wifi or Bluetooth options. Keep or delete what you transfer from the card easily.

Love this to transfer images from my camera to my phone .
I let my friend use my camera to take pictures at his aunts wedding. And lended him this card reader to get all of the pictures he wanted without having to upload them to my computer then emailing them to him. It’s just a easier way to transfer files. Highly recommend!
