I bought this to be able to look at trail cam pictures. It does work well and has a clear picture but cuts off the sides of the picture so you basically only see what was in the center of the frame at the time the photo was taken.

This SD card reader is easy to use and will be very handy when traveling to transfer photos from a digital camera to iPhone and then to an iXpand flash drive.

Works well but overpriced like most Apple products. However, if you need it at the last minute as I did then you got to bite the bullet.
Cheaper alternatives out there

This is great for transferring photos to iPhone the only problem is it will not transfer high quality videos to the iPhone like it says it does and that’s the reason I bought it for had to return it.

I purchased this to download 4K videos onto my iPad Pro. It showed that the videos downloaded but I couldn’t play or edit any of them. I don’t know if this is an iPad issue or the device.

It might be due to user issues, but this didn’t seem to really help export images and video off my smart phone to save space and backups of media.

I wanted to be able to transfer info from my iPad mini retina directly to my sd card and was not able to do that. It did work on my iPhone 6s though so i just have to adapt my way of transferring content which isn't ideal...

I'm a portrait photographer and I use this to let the models see all the work after the shoot. Works fast enough to import files on your iPad, even does RAW files. of course JPEGs are going to be faster to import.
This is not a necessity but it is useful for working with photos or video off an SD card on either a iPad or iPhone.

So excited when I found this genuine Apple product that said it would import pics and videos from a camera sd card. Unfortunately it would only import pics or videos if they had 8 character names (plus .jpg, . AVI, or .MP4, etc.). I found that I could put the card in a laptop and rename every video to 8 characters (ie. VID12345.AVI) and it would show up to import on my IPad Air (but what’s the point of having an iPad if I have to go to the trouble?) If the name came out of the camera with seven characters (ie. VID1234.AVI) the iPad would not recognize it. I spent 2 hours talking with some very nice and diligent people from Apple, but to no avail. It just won’t work. Honestly Apple should be smarter on this one. Don’t buy this adapter unless all your pics and videos come out of your camera with 8 character names!
