It works fast and is better than using a computer in my opinion. You cannot off load pictures from your phone or iPad to the card reader. You can only upload them the one way from the memory card to the apple device.

I have purchased several of these from other companies and they didn’t work very long. This one has done a very good job so far and I’m very pleased with it.
