The better Apple

I’ve owned Mac computers for a while now. Our family home has many MacBooks, iMacs, and many other Apple devices. The hope for this Mac Studio was that it would become too new “powerful Mac” in the home. It has successfully dethroned my powerhouse iMac. It’s small. It’s a quiet. It has plenty of connectivity ports. And in a home where peripherals already exist it’s the new king of Macs here. If you’re not an Apple user, a Mac Studio is likely not the best first purchase for you. It seems to be built for seasoned Mac owners. That said, I’m already planning to purchase another in another year or two when the budget allows. Just for fun my son loaded up Minecraft with mods and shaders then pushed the framerate to 240, and it doesn’t miss a heartbeat. I’m not saying it’s a gaming rig. This Mac is made for heavier computing as it is incredible. Adobe softwares with photo and video work are what it does here and it does not disappoint!

This mac studio m2 max is so fast. It is small, and quiet. Can’t believe how much i can throw at it whether it is video editing, gaming, multi tasking and music production, all at the same time. It barely sweats with my demands.

It’s virtually dead silent and extremely efficient for high quality music production and recording. I run a universal audio Apollo Twin x interface with a Neumann TLM 50 microphone and it makes crystal clear recordings. It’s a little on the high end as far as price is concerned but it’s well worth the investment if you have the money. I recommend.

The Mac Studio with the M2 chip is the best computer I have ever owned. And I owned my first computer in 1983. Remarkably fast, accurate and I can use up to 5 programs simultaneously. Photoshop Elements, Topaz Photo Ai and many other RAM hogs! The only drawback is it only has 512 gbs of storage! Should at least be 1 terabyte. Other than that, it’s the perfect machine. It also supports 6 monitors. I only use 3.

Powerful, user friendly, and worth every penny! This was bought for those work from home days, and my photography side business. It’s checked every box off of my requirements and then some. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a powerful computer that can do all the things with great reliability!

Works great! Purchased to replace desktop iMac. Saved some $ by getting a Satechi hub/stand and separate SSD to use as primary hard drive and boot drive to avoid Apple’s crazy high pricing for additional memory as current Macs are not upgradable (the memory id soldered onto the motherboard)

Seriously nice box, this from a "Windows" guy.

So I should start off that I am primarily a Windows guy, but I keep everything on my desk (Windows, Linux, Mac). I am a developer so for me I look at computers as tools in a toolbox. Right tool for the job.
After making the horrible iMac purchase in 2020 buying what I swear is the only iMac that couldn't be upgraded without disassembling the entire box, I opted to go with more power from the get go. And man this thing does not dissapoint. Smooth and fast response, super fast compiles on xCode and I have even moved doing a lot of my graphics tasks from Windows boxes to the studio.
As far as looks go, probably the cleanest design out there for a high end box. Way sharper looking than my Windows boxes, but for me the aesthetics were not really a factor.
One thing that Apple has definitely perfected is the transfer process during an upgrade. A little back and forth between the two boxes at the beginning, then sit back and it handled everything. By far the smoothest upgrade and transfer I have ever encountered.
The one thing that I found odd, was for such a high end box, no mouse or keyboard included. I know most people have their own they are attached to, but even including something basic would have been nice.
Other than using it for compiling apps, was never really a Mac fan, but I have to say this box may win me over.

Second to none! apple has killed it with these little beasts! Quiet, runs cool no matter what you throw at it. Takes up next to no space. Amazing how much power is packed in this machine. This thing will handle mostly anything you throw at it. I will certainly be buying another when the time comes to replace this unit.

My In-Depth Experience with the Mac Studio M2

As a professional in video production and music creation, I've been using the Mac Studio M2 extensively and have some detailed insights to share. This machine is a fusion of sleek design and formidable performance, tailored for the demands of creative work.
The compact and stylish design of the Mac Studio M2 is a huge plus for my studio setup. It's space-efficient without compromising on power, a hallmark of Apple's design philosophy.
When it comes to video editing, the experience is a bit of a mixed bag. Working on Adobe Premiere Pro, I noticed that rendering a 2-minute video with effects takes about 30 minutes, which is surprisingly lengthy for a machine of this caliber. This aspect may be a point of consideration for those heavily reliant on video editing.
However, the Mac Studio M2 truly shines in music production. Using FL Studio for beat making and ProTools for engineering full tracks, I've seen a remarkable performance boost. The render times are lightning-fast, often under a minute, which is a significant improvement over my previous setups.
Another area where the Mac Studio M2 excels is in photo editing with Adobe Lightroom. The 'Enhance' features are exceptionally quick, taking only 3-9 seconds to process images, a stark contrast to the 2-3 minutes on my Intel MacBook Pro. This efficiency has streamlined my workflow, allowing me to focus more on creative aspects rather than waiting on processing.
Connectivity and thermal management are top-notch, maintaining efficiency and quiet operation even under heavy loads. This is crucial for maintaining a focused and comfortable working environment.
While the initial investment is substantial, the return in terms of productivity and performance in music production and photo editing is undeniable. However, for video editing, particularly with Adobe Premiere Pro, it may not meet the expectations set by its price point and brand reputation.
In summary, the Mac Studio M2 is a powerhouse for music production and photo editing, but it has room for improvement in video rendering speeds. For creative professionals like myself, it offers a significant upgrade in many areas but requires a balanced view of its capabilities in others.

I've been on the fence about any computer based on ARM. Now, my mind is changed. This machine is amazingly fast. There are a lot of "Pros" and probably equal amounts of "Cons: but overall, I consider this one of the best computers I've owned.
Pro:
Small Footprint
Powerful CPU
Fast Storage
Plenty of plug in options
NO WHITE POWER CORD!
Con:
Expensive
Storage and RAM tied to CPU chosen, You can't get a 1TB drive without going with the M2 Ultra
Expandability is all external. Get a good external NVME USB 4 or Thunderbolt and you're good.
No upgrade paths what so ever.
This is fantastic looking and running machine. With Sonoma right around the corner, and hopefully some work on Apple's end to get the Game Dev Kit to user friendly, this machine can run top tier games with respectable performance. I had Diablo IV running at between 60 and 150 fps with most everything to high detail.

A Game-Changer

I'm thrilled to share my experience with the Apple Mac Studio M2 Max in Silver – it's truly amazing, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! This sleek and powerful machine has exceeded all my expectations. It handles everything I throw at it with ease and then some. For instance, I'm an avid World of Warcraft player, and the Mac Studio has the power to run the game on the highest settings, delivering an incredibly immersive experience.
One of the standout features for me is how seamlessly the iOS integrates with itself. The Apple ecosystem is a game-changer, allowing me to connect my devices effortlessly and wirelessly. It's a level of convenience and synergy that enhances my daily workflow and simplifies my tech life.
As a longtime fan of Apple products, I must say that the Mac Studio lives up to the high standards I've come to expect. It's a testament to Apple's commitment to innovation and quality.
However, it's worth noting one minor consideration. The Mac Studio comes with a 2.1 HDMI port, and if you're like me with an older monitor using a 1.6 HDMI, it may impact your frame rate. To get the most out of this powerhouse, I upgraded to a monitor with a 2.0 HDMI, and the difference was night and day. So, if you're planning to pair it with a monitor, ensure it's compatible for the smoothest experience.
I can't recommend the Apple Mac Studio M2 Max enough. It's a fantastic addition to any tech setup, and it excels in both performance and integration. If you're a fan of Apple products, this is a must-have. Just remember to check your monitor's compatibility for optimal performance. It's a decision you won't regret!

This computer goes above and beyond anything I could have imagined. I figured buying a Mac would be a good investment to help get me through some of my extensive video edits, but I was completed blown away by how it handled my workflow right out of the gate! It never slows down, never crashes, and always comes through when I need it to. I highly recommend this for Premiere Pro, Davinci, or Final Cut users hands down! Well done!

I upgraded from a 2017 iMac, and I’m sorry it took me this long to upgrade. Paired with the studio monitor and Logi MX Keys and mouse, this is a powerhouse computer. The only downside is needing external drives to extend the smaller solid state drive, but this appears to be the new normal across all platforms.

I have been using a 2019 i9 MacBook Pro with 32GB memory for Music Recording with UAD LUNA. LUNA has great graphics and uses GPU more heavily than most DAWs. My 2019 MBP constantly had the fan going and would hiccup when recording due to thermal throttling. I finally had enough and purchased the base model Mac Studio M2 Max. It never breaks a sweat with LUNA when recording or mixing. I have never heard the fan engage and I have some pretty heavy sessions that push it hard. I use a 2TB external Sandisk G40 Professional Thunderbolt SSD and it is almost as fast as the internal drive. Great combo and the SanDisk G40 is way cheaper than Apple storage.
