Wonderful laptop! apple has done it again! sleek, thin,elegant, efficient and very user friendly!

I purchased my MacBook to replace a MacBook Pro that was too heavy to carry everywhere during conferences. This ultrabook will serve that function very well. It does need an adaptor to use a USB and LCD projector, but you also need an adaptor to use a projector with the MacBook Pro, so that was not a deal breaker for me. It does not start up quite as fast as the MacBook Pro, but that is a price I am willing to pay for the portability.

The laptop was a excellent purchase and for a great price. Got it $300. off list price. It's the perfect size for travel. It's programs over all make life easier and are very understandable and very fast. Love it , best laptop I ever had.

I've always owned MacBook laptops but this product is the best midsize unit that Apple has ever put out. Fast, beautiful display and light enough to carry in a briefcase. No downsides.

I purchased this model because it was on sale for $999. I replaced a Retina MacBook Pro (2013 model) with this because of the size and weight and this will work well when traveling and using on a plane. It is not as powerful as some of the other MacBooks, but for general use it will do fine.

I've owned a MacBook Pro 15" retina for about a year. I use it a home primarily, but when I travel I would bring it along. Although it's an amazing machine, powerful, gorgeous display, and the ease of OS X, carrying it around for travel was getting tiresome because of the weight and size. When Apple announced the Macbook, I was intrigued. But some of my concerns were was it powerful enough, battery life, and the new keyboard. I did a ton of online research (including reading lots of Best Buy reviews), and I spent about 45 minutes in the Apple store giving it a full test run. I was satisfied and decided to pull the trigger. I couldn't be happier! This little 2 lb computer is a workhorse. Several reviews on this site said the Macbook is underpowered, but I have found this simply not to be true. I have installed Photoshop and have been doing photo editing with no issues. I'm not a professional, so maybe under significant editing it could get bogged down, but I haven't found any issues. I've streamed HD movies, watched 4K videos on Youtube, had several apps opened at the same time, switching through them constantly (mail, twitter, Safari, iTunes) and it is just as smooth as my Macbook Pro. This computer is so much fun to use. It's amazingly lightweight, I mean so easy to carry around and use on the lap, you don't even know it's there. I wondered if a 12" screen would be too small, but that's the genius of retina scaling. The text on the screen is plenty big to read, but its tack sharp. The screen is gorgeous. I've seen the Microsoft Surface, and it's a slick machine, but the text on the screen is so tiny! The 12" macbook is just perfectly balanced in compact size yet easy usability. The keyboard is wonderful to type on. After just a couple hours of use I was completely used to it. I'm typing just as efficient as I would on any other keyboard (maybe even a little quicker). The keys respond perfectly. And as expected, the trackpad is the best in the industry. Plenty of real estate, Mac OS X gestures, and just feels like an extension of my hand. Touchscreen laptops are everywhere these days, but personally I just don't think touchscreens work well with laptops. They're great for phones and tables that you hold in your hand, but a laptop is made for a trackpad. Plus who want tons of finger prints mucking up their wonderful screen? This is just my opinion, but I'm quite passionate about it. Battery life is decent. Apple claims 8-9 hours, which is about what I'm getting. This may not be industry leading battery life, but for a powerful computer in a 2 lb size, it's a trade off that's worth it to me. So, in conclusion, if you're wondering if this is a laptop for you, I would highly recommend it! It's just an amazing piece of technology. A full fledged, powerful computer in a super compact, lightweight size. I'm having so much fun with this machine and know it's going to get a ton of use in my home and during travel.

I am very, very happy about this computer. I was a PC user, had a Sony Vaio for the past five years, but was ready to move on to a more portable device. I can really few the difference when reading papers, the retina screen is great!

Lightweight, easy to use, does what I need it to do. Very compact to bring to meetings. Still getting used to it (coming from Windows 10).

Okay, so just to get this straight- this computer is not for everyone. If you want one laptop that you will need to use everyday for the next few years this is not for you. However if you're like me and just want something ultra portable for light use this is a great device. I have a 2014 21" iMac that I absolutely love, but just don't like having to sit in my uncomfortable chair to use the computer. That's when I realized I was in the market for something I could just lay in bed with, watch YouTube, movies, write papers, and Skype with. That was the extreme of all of my usage for something like this. I'd just make my iMac do all the heavy lifting. I'd had some money saved up that I could spend on a new device. I was in between this, a MacBook Air, and an iPad with cellular. I knocked the iPad out because I wanted to be able to do school work on. So then I was really having trouble between this and the Air. I loved the design of this and the ultra portability of (That isn't to say that the Air isn't portable), but had some second thoughts just like most others. The keyboard was really weird to me at first, but I've come to get used to it and really like it now. The webcam is not a big deal at all and the one port wasn't really a deal breaker either. I just bought a 4 USB adapter on Amazon for $10 so no sense in paying $80 for Apple's. The battery is good but not as great as the Air's. I am coming from a 4 year old MB Pro which only lasted about 2 hours so this works just fine. Obviously the design is just stunning to look at and hold. I bought the Space Gray model which I just find so sleek and cool looking. It's super thin and only ways 2 lbs so I can easily haul this to and from school everyday. The biggest thing that set this aside from the Air for me was the beautiful display. I knew that I would be doing a lot of movie watching on here so this really was an essential element for me. The retina display is so easy on the eyes and never wears them out after extended periods of usage. People also complain about the processor. This laptop is not designed for heavy things and people just don't seem to get that. It is designed for everyday things like surfing the web, watching video, etc. Not 4K video editing, graphic design, or gaming. It is a perfectly fast computer for what it is meant to be used for. If you want to be doing any of the things listed above your best bet would be a pimped out PC. All in all, I just love the elegance and portability of this device. I can't say that it is totally worth the 1300 smackaroos, but if you have the money to be spending go ahead and try it out. If you want something for heavy and long term use, look the other way.

From the size to the performance... I love everything about this machine. I have had 2 MacBook Air 13s in the past and could not be happier moving to this little beauty!

Have been a Mac person for awhile and may like this computer even more than my old Pro. Use it for work - email, office suite - and airplay things to Apple TV all at the same time. Love how lightweight it is for traveling.

This was a purchase for my spouse who is not overly comfortable with computers. With this she was able to get right on and get going. The display is crisp and the processor quick. Only drawback is the lack of inputs. made it cumbersome to transfer data from her PC to the MacBook.

As a Mac Book user in the past I was ready for an upgrade and with this product I was not disappointed. From its sleek look to its ease of use this product offers it all!

it's a good laptop bit expensive for its features and gets heated up easily if you use it too long.
