The item is lightweight and as big as a notebook. I love the gold color. I have the MacBook Pro as well and I think they're both great. The only con I have is that I think the battery dies faster.

I was waiting for this from long time. Bought it but completely disappointed with its performance and hardware. It's webcam is 480p which is of worst quality and the Core M processor is not good for any good applications. Better look out for your needs

This is a nice computer overall. I've adapted to the size of everything pretty well, I really like the smaller keyboard. I think there should be another usb-c port to support multiple devices.

When I first heard the rumors that Apple was going to be releasing a laptop (then assumed to be a MacBook Air) with only one port I was skeptical. I know Apple likes pushing the envelope, but seriously, only one port? I decided that even if it was true, which I was convinced it wasn’t, that I wouldn’t even consider such a machine. I consider myself a “power user”, and how could I live without a bunch of ports on either side of my laptop. Not to mention the fact that I was primarily a Windows guy. I have an iPhone and iPad, and my wife has a MacBook Air that I occasionally used, but for my computer I’ve always had a Windows machine. Then the MacBook was announced alongside the AppleWatch. I was mildly disappointed by the watch (but that’s a entirely different story), but I was fascinated by the MacBook. Yep, there was only one port. But it was so thin! And a beautiful display! It was love at first sight for me. I started to think that maybe, just maybe, I might buy one. As much I loved the idea of the MacBook I truly agonized over the purchase. Once it was released I read every review I could find. And by and large they were lukewarm at best. Yes it is beautiful, they said. But you will be disappointed, they said. Too slow. Only one port. Funky keyboard. Shorter battery life. And the one thing the all seemed to agree on, too expensive. Yes, they all seemed to think it was too much for too little. So I spent several weeks going back and forth. Pro and con. And then I took the plunge… and haven’t regretted it for a moment. So here’s what I think about each of those reasons that the reviewers said you should not buy this: 1. Too Slow. I have to wonder for who it’s too slow. For anyone doing a lot of video editing, yes it is going to slow you down. Professional programmers compiling software, yep, this probably isn’t your primary computer either. Hardcore gamers? Ha, they’re all Windows users anyway. For the rest of us, I don’t think you’d notice any difference whatsoever between this and a MacBook Air. I know I can’t see any difference between this machine and my wife’s MacBook Air. 2. Only one port. I admit, this was my original sticking point, the thing that caused me to dismiss the computer sight unseen. But as I started to think about it, how much do I have attached to my laptop? The short answer is nothing, at least full time. There are a couple of things I plug in from time to time, such as a DVD burner or portable hard drive. But I always plug the device in, do my business, and then unplug them. My only minor gripe at this point is that I need to use an adapter to connect anything (to downsize from the full-size USB plug to USB Type C). But that’s a very, very minor inconvenience. I’ve seen a lot of reviewers complain up and down about needing to carry an adapter. It’s really not a big deal. 3. Funky keyboard. This is truly a matter of personal preference. I personally like the keyboard, it has a very satisfying feel to it. My suggestion is to head to your local BestBuy store and try it for yourself. It is a little different, there’s no denying that. My only issue with the keyboard is I have a little hard time reaching the delete key while typing and need to move my hand out of position when touch typing to use it. But that’s not necessarily a unique issue to this keyboard. And I find the more I’ve been getting used to this keyboard the better my accuracy it getting, meaning I use the delete key less. 4. Shorter battery life. This might be the one area I might agree on. I say might because I haven’t really put the battery to the test. Once again, I looked at my use case to make a decision. It seems like 8-9 hours of battery life was the consensus among reviewers. I can’t ever recall a time when I’ve used a laptop on battery for 8-9 hours between charges. Keep in mind that battery life time is typically usage time. When I’m not using the computer I can close the lid and save battery life. Yep, the MacBook Air blows away this little machine. But the MacBook Air is pretty big in comparison and lacks the retina display (some bloggers call this reduced battery life a “retina tax”). 5. Too expensive. Once I got past the single port this became my next sticking point. It’s the one thing that all the reviewers seemed to agree on. Except one, at Anandtech.com, who put everything into perspective for me. Sure, I could get an 11” MacBook Air for $799. But that is with 4 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. Bump that up to 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD, the configuration of the MacBook and now you’re at $1,199. Only $100 less than the MacBook. For the extra $100 you get a beautiful thin design and a gorgeous retina display. Sure, you won’t be editing video on the MacBook, but I’m willing to bet you’re not editing video on the 11” MacBook Air either. So all this is a lot of words to tell you that you should base your decision to buy this computer on how you’ll use it and not how the professional reviewers think you’ll use it. It’s not for everyone. There are people who need a more powerful machine. But even they might benefit from this as a second computer if they need something portable. What I’ve found is that since buying this computer I’ve been using my iPad Air a lot less. At the end of the day, it may be that the MacBook is an iPad killer.
