I have enjoyed the laptop. I was concerned that the screen was not going to be big enough, but so far it has not been a problem.

I like apple product because it's protected and not easy to hack. I love the design. It's thin light. I don't have to carry a 10lbs lap anymore. I just don't like the battery doesn't long like air but it charge faster. It just has 1 adapter so kind of annoy

My daughter bought this computer because it is light and portable. She had a bigger computer (17in) and it was heavy for her to travel to school with it. I would recommend to anyone that wants a lighter computer and just needs it for the basic usage.

    Amazing Laptop! Critics are Crazy!

I had been planning on upgrading from my 2008 iMac for about almost a year to a laptop (yes, my iMac ran this long - actually still running, but getting slower now). Initially, I was looking at the MacBook pro. I had used the 13" model for work about two years back and was very pleased with it. However, I just didn't need that type of performance and it was a little larger than I desired (weight and thickness). I was more interested in having something EXTREMELY portable that I could use to surf the web, check email, watch movies, edit photos/videos, and record/listen to music. I then switched gears and looked into the Macbook Air. Since the latest model had been out for quite a while, I figured an updated version would be coming soon (and rumors also mentioned the same). So I waited... I am so happy that I did. I am beyond impressed with my new MacBook. It has exceeded all my expectations. It isn't slow, like I have heard critics say, mentioning it is a "step backwards." Not at all! This is completely two steps forward! This is the future of laptops. The new MacBook isn't intended to be a MacBook Pro a.k.a. a super crazy high-performance or gaming laptop. Don't get me wrong, the MacBook Pro is awesome! Because that is what it is designed for - very high performance. The new MacBook is meant to be extremely portable with the ability to concur daily tasks. Here are the pluses: No fan, which is wonderful, I still do not understand how the computer doesn't even seem to get anything more than lukewarm. The new butterfly hinge keyboard it so much easier than a normal keyboard. Took my fingers about two minutes to get the hang of it and it must have increased my typing speed by at least 10-20 WPM thus far. The force touch keyboard it also stellar - though there aren't a ton of uses for it yet. It will be exciting to see what software comes out that will utilize the force touch keyboard. The CON that I heard most people talk about was the lack of ports. However, unlike some users, the one USB-C port isn't a biggie for me. I would rather keep the laptop super thin and only have one port (plus headphone port). I already purchased a UCB-C to standard USB connector for $19 on the Apple store and I am set. I do not see a need for any other adapter (i.e. VGA, HDMI, etc.) I have an Apple TV, so I can airplay and a VGA or HDMI is not necessary. I have a scan-disk SD card to USB already that I used for my iMac, so that works with the the adapter I purchased to upload all my photos from my Nikon. I have already used Airdrop for transferring photos and documents from my iPad and iPhone. Lastly, I also do not see the need for two USB-C ports as some others have mentioned - specifically to charge and utilize the port at the same time. The laptop literally takes no time at all to charge and it lasts ALL day long. I have not needed to plug in my USB and charge like I do for my work PC. All-in-all, it was WORTH the $1,600 splurge and I am extremely satisfied. I have no doubts that I will be using this lovely laptop for the next 5-7 years and I have with my iMac. Note: I am purchasing a SquareTrade 3-year warranty rather than the GeekSquad or Apple offered warranties. It is much superior and they reimburse you for charges to visit the Genius Bar at Apple for any repairs within the term. The Geek Squad warranty wasn't even an option for me. I purchased one for an iPod way back and it was the worst warranty ever - sorry Best Buy, I like the store and customer service is okay, but the GeekSquad warranty is a complete waste of money.

My husband needed more functionality than his iPad offered, plus his laptop was failing. He loves his iPhone and wanted a laptop to sync with his Apple gadgets so this was his choice. Nice and lightweight, good functionality. It doesn't have a CD slot but he could load some programs through a usb stick.

After owning multiple MacBook and MacBook Pro computers I was hesitant of the new MacBook 12" given its single port, new keyboard, and smaller 12" screen. However, after 3 months with the Macbook 12" I would not go back. The single USB-C port does require the purchase of an adapter to make the computer useful when plugged in at home, otherwise its a 5 star device
