Really does what I need it to do! So sleek and slim! The best computer I have ever had!

Im giving my new Macbook a four star rating for two reasons. The first is the usb-c charger. I like it but I'm afraid that it will hit something and break. I'm used to the magsafe charger. The second was the price. For a small computer with a not so fast processor it was a little pricey. Although it did come with a 512 GB hard drive that I am happy about.

I upgraded to this MacBook from a 4 year old Mac Mini. I love the ease of setup as well as the user interface. I'm absolutely amazed at the portability of this device.

Love Apple products in general. Had the MacBook and upgraded to the new and love it even more. It is smaller and sleeker, the speakers seem louder and the display is great!

What can I say, this laptop is a beast. I'm a video editor and I wanted something for "on the go" and I did a lot of research on this laptop. I love this little guy and I honestly feel like it's my best apple purchase yet. Fast, reliable, and great battery life. Please be aware that this computer has USB-C which requires an adapter if you are looking to hook up any normal USB devices. This is a small hurdle to get over, and once you have the adapters you'll see why this computer is so awesome!

Needed a light weight extremely portable computer. It is slick. With iCloud Drive and Bluetooth and WIFI just about everywhere, I don't need the ports that are on the bigger lap tops. Love it! Love the gold tone too.

I love this little beauty. It it easy to carry and use during meetings. It gives me lots more power and flexibility than my iPad. In short, it's probably too much for only taking meeting notes, but I sure love it!

Bought this to supplement my iMac when I travel. I can throw it in my briefcase and hardly notice it. Fast boot up, quick performance, great battery life.

Very portable gorgeous laptop. Not for heavy computing. I had a MBP with retina before I bought this one. Its world's apart when it comes to horsepower.

I have been a mac guy for 30 years. I was considering the pro vs the macbook and with my travels decided to give this a shot and I am impressed with this little machine and it fits great in my case.

I've been a PC guy most of my young and short life. I decided to make the jump to Mac with the recent sale on Macbook computers. I felt that now was as good a time as ever. The key to not being disappointed with this Macbook is to know what you're getting into before you jump in. First thing being that this thing is lightweight and tiny, but it is by no means a powerhouse computer. That being said it is not slow, and for what most people will use it for, the Macbook will be plenty fast for day-to-day activities as well as in the near future. If you want a powerhouse I suggest a Macbook Pro or build a Desktop PC. Next is the one (1) port conundrum. I was a bit turned off by this bit, because I didn't know if I could live with having one (1) port to do all without an expensive adapter. Fortunately I don't plug items into my computer often, and if I do it's a USB that I'll need for a short period of time. Apple has an adapter for that! Yes you still have to buy an adapter, but if you can find one open-box I suggest going that route, and it's only about a Jackson. I opted for the 512GB and 1.2GHz processor. This is a sweet spot in the performance of the current gen Macbook line-up. It's not as fast as the 1.3GHz that you have to build on Apple's website, but it's also not maxed out like the 1.1GHz (TDP/OEM Overclocking wise for those wondering why this would seem counter-intuitive) is. The turbo boost is nice, and the system does a hurry up and throttle method, so for doing quick tasks this thing won't slow you down. I've had plenty of tabs open in Safari, and the amount of memory is sufficient to not bog me down. Furthermore it's nice having the 512GB to run Windows 10 in Boot camp and not skimping on storage on either partition. I wanted to use Boot camp to make the transition from Windows to OS X easier for my family and I, thus the option is there. Plus I can play my older games on Windows and not worry about compatibility issues with OS X. Also I can always use an external HDD if I need to store lots of larger items that I don't always need as the HDD is not user replaceable. This is not a gaming machine however, so don't expect to play current gen games at full settings and be satisfied. I installed older Blizzard games and Roller Coaster tycoon and they run perfectly fine on this computer. If I want intense gaming I have a Desktop PC and Console to play on. You can always play around with what games will work, and with the option to boot camp you don't have to worry about what OS your game will work on, just don't jump in expecting games to work (although I doubt anyone would, but you never know). I can't comment on battery life yet as I've barely used it consecutively long enough to gauge. The keyboard does take some getting used to but I haven't been too upset with the learning curve and have struggled less than I had initially thought. The force touch trackpad is awesome and definitely something that comes in handy if you're a heavy Tab browser as this prevents you from having to open lots of tabs from the same website, since you can "view" the link in a smaller box. The screen is gorgeous and top-notch. One thing to note, when first setting this bad boy up I ran into an issue with Setup Assistant. It started to hang. To prevent this don't setup your network until you actually boot into your Mac. This will save you time and hassle. For some reason if you setup your network in Setup Assistant it likes to hang. Also if doing boot camp, Windows setup will hang on the Realtek audio drivers. You can skip these drivers (using task manager and then installing manually) and install them after with no consequences. I had to contact support due to the issues stated above, but their support is top notch and easily understandable and helped me with all the issues I should've looked into before I setup the computer. They were able to walk me through the steps I needed to ensure my new Mac was running smoothly. To end this really long review my final thoughts (sorry for the length). At the sale price I would definitely buy this Macbook again. However at full retail one may want to consider a Macbook Pro 13" unless they need the portability of the Macbook 12". Also buying on sale would make sense as the refresh is upcoming with Skylake processors, improving graphics and allegedly better battery life (at least efficiency is better), and anything else Apple decides to upgrade like ports etc. The performance in the processor end however other than graphics is allegedly negligible. The key to this Macbook is managing expectations, and it probably wouldn't hurt to have a more powerful secondary PC or Mac on hand for when portability doesn't matter or more intensive tasks. If you want more space you can always use an external HDD. If you want a USB adapter but don't need the display adapter and other goodies on the more expensive one, you can always get the cheaper adapter for way less. If you want a portable iPad running OS X with a built in Keyboard this may be your answer. Sorry again for the length but hopefully this can give you a little insight into the Macbook and if it's right for you, as well as some helpful hints during setup.

Everything about this laptop is perfect. A high density pixel display, a track pad I surprisingly was able to adapt to right away, nice finish keyboard that's easy to touch type. My favorite and compelling detail is how lightweight it is. Recognized my Canon camera right away. Bought USB C adapters for SD cards, even Gigabit Ethernet. AC WiFi for speed. Charges fast. Runs Google Chrome and easy to interact with Windows Office. Plays all my MP4s. Very happy.

I really like this computer because it is so light that I can easy to take it to everywhere. I bought this for instead my MacBook Pro 15, which is too heavy to carry on everyday for my work.

I had a 2009 Macbook Pro that had served me well over the last 7 years. However, the technology was outdated so I decided to upgrade to a much lighter laptop. I was decided on the Macbook vice Macbook Air because I wanted something really light and boy does it not disappoint. This thing is so light it's great. I love the "flushed" keyboard and the graphics quality is great, probably because of the Retina display. I'm loving this so far.

I am a manager at my firm. Most of my day is email, online web meetings, word/excel, reviewing presentatons, and other light admin work. It has been great. I love it and strongly recommend.

The new keyboard style takes some getting used to but I love its size and responsiveness. I don't do a lot of heavy lifting with it so it's perfect. And the purchase experience was great.

This time I went for the MacBook instead of the MacBook Pro. I needed something smaller for school. The salesman really wanted me to go with the Pro, but I'm very happy with the MacBook.
