Customers frequently mention the Macbook's lightweight design, compact size, and excellent portability as significant advantages. Many also appreciate its performance and long battery life. However, some users point out the limited number of USB-C ports as a drawback. The positive feedback on the device's aesthetics, including its color and sleek design, is also noteworthy.

Really good quality. I got the rose gold version and it’s so pretty. Battery life could be better but you can only do so much with a laptop so thin. It’s so light! It amazes me how a laptop can be so thin. This isn’t an issue for me, but just as a heads up, there’s only the charging port and the headphone jack on this laptop.

No compromises. If you're going to get this type of good but not-as-good-as normal keyboard, get this because it's so light and handy. Get this, and a clunker laptop that stays put for more screen space when you need it. Awesome little mac

Once I started college in 2013, my parents got me a 15.6" ASUS laptop and it was super bulky. The laptop has lasted me about 5 years, and it still works. However, it is extremely slow and it only has an hour of battery life. So I have been saving up paychecks from work to splurge on an Apple Macbook, which I have been eyeing for months (I basically waited until the Apple Event was going on, $200 off on select Macbook models). All my life I have always had Android products, and just about a month ago, I got an iPhone 8+. Everything feels so easy and effortless with Apple products and I feel spoiled. The shipping for this product was extremely fast. I came home from class last night, and it took about 2 hours to set everything up and personalize it to my liking. I am so pleased with my 12" Macbook because it is absolutely gorgeous (my rose gold obsession) and transportable (fits my tote bag), which is a characteristic I value and definitely need as a college student in graduate school.

The Best Laptop for School Kids

I bought this computer online and was suspicious about the price. I bought it primarily for school, and this computer is PERFECT. I literally can not have bought a computer more fitting. I am a rather small person, and this computer fits very well inside of my stuffed backpack without taking up too much room. And because the computer is so light, it doesn't break my back. I highly recommend this computer, it is absolutely perfect for high school/ college students.

I have been a Apple/Mac user since the early 90's. Most of my equipment is dated by a few years, but fully functional and upgradable. I convinced myself that I was not going to purchase another Apple product as I felt Apple was no longer innovative and were only concerned about their bottom line, I have not changed my mind in that regard; however, I did purchase the MacBook 12" 2017, and have been happy with my purchase. It performs very well. I recently used it to edit photos with Adobe Photoshop CC 2019; stacking layer upon layer, and had absolutely no problems with it. I have yet to test it with iMovie or Final Cut Pro 10.4.6. I like the light weight, performance, no fan noise, speed of the SSD, resolution, and 8GB of memory. I especially liked the price at $799 as advertised during a very recent Flash Sale. Is it worth $1299, you be the judge.

    Solid build, limited battery

This thing is portable! Hard to imagine a laptop being any easier to carry around. The biggest problem is it only has the one usb c port for both charging and accessories so you really need to buy a USB c dongle that supports charging. Also the battery life is just ok, but that's a fair trade-off for being so portable.

This MacBook is the most ideal for my use. I use it mostly for surfing the net and Microsoft Office. Did I mention how beautiful this laptop is? And it’s only two pounds so it’s great for traveling with. Very happy with this purchase!

I was SHOCKED at how powerful this machine was compared to my previous 2017 MacBook Pro 15". This is more than I need for even light video editing. It is so much quicker than I had anticipated. Exactly what I need In a notebook.

Great machine, unless you want to type

This computer has one serious defect. The keyboard. The space key stops working. The keys are so flat, that the space key simply gets stuck, and you cannot type a space. Online searches reveal this is a common problem. So yes, I love this machine, but it's worthless if I cannot type. This is the worst keyboard I have ever used. And this from an Apple diehard fan. I would not recommend this computer. I have used this computer for my job (teaching) for 1.5 years. I've had to pry off keys and try to clean under them. It helps for a day or two. Then the keys get stuck again. Go with any other model that does not have this new flat (and noisy) keyboard. A $2,000. waste of your money.

    Pick a different Mac!

Ive had a macbook, a MacBook Air, and the MacBook Pro. The Mac air is great and still in working condition. I later got a MacBook Pro just to change things up until the screen stopped working on me. That was a bummer but I was kind of excited to get a new laptop anyways. Before the screen everything was great. This Mac however, ive had more problems with it than any other laptop. First time I purchased the screen kept going blank, I figured I got a bad one so I exchanged it. When I got the new one it stopped but a few months later, screen is becoming blank again and now the keys are stuck. I tried to fix one key but instead it broke off. The space key gets stuck ALL THE TIME. Ive looked it up and others have the same problem. I HATE THE BUTTERFLY KEYS. I used compressed air like apple recc. and nothing. Beside from all of these problems, its always dying!!! IT needs to be charged at least twice a day. Just dont get this.... Get the pro, get the air, but DONT GET THIS LAPTOP.

If you're thinking about buying this Macbook, just avoid it like the Macbook Air. The processor is about as fast as a second generation Core i5 from 2011. On top of that, you're getting only one USB port that is for charging. You need a dongle if you want to do anything as simple as charge the laptop and connect a USB flash drive into it. There's also no fans which means that this laptop can get very hot and thermal throttle (a trend you see with Apple computers). This means that many tasks (even basic ones) cause this laptop to slow down very quickly. If you're thinking about getting this laptop, buy yourself a Chromebook and save the money. You're not going to get as good of a screen, but you'll be getting a lot more ports and you can do pretty much everything that you'd do on the Mac.

    480p Camera Seriously?

Okay so I can praise many aspects of that laptop or count many cons but I just want to focus on one point which made me regret buying this laptop at first place is 480p camera they used on this laptop. We just hate doing facile on this laptop because the other party basically see you in pixels, rofl, Apple its 2019, hint hint hint. So you are offering a laptop for light use with minimal ram cpu etc to make it light but missing a serious point for the main customers for this laptop, camera quality and results very bad FaceTime experience. shame on you designer team. If I was aware of thatches laptop was coming only with 480p resolution camera I would definitely pass on this.

I have always own windows based computers but i was sick of changing every 3-4 years because they become slow and break! eventually made the decision to buy this macbook but unfortunatley after two years of very light use the computere started glitching and evetuall went off. after hours with apple support and then in store visit i was told that likely the mother board is broker and need to be changed for 599$ which is rediculouos, i did buy this through best but i am not sure if the products are different but two years for 1600$ its not fare and apple is likely making cheaper products for the public for the same expensive price. no more apple computers .
