As I travel frequently with only carry-on luggage, I needed to get a laptop that was lightweight and easy to carry. Since I am heavily invested in the Apple eco-system, I focused on either the Macbook Air or the Macbook. The Macbook Air has more bells and whistles than the Macbook but its size was almost as big as my Macbook Pro laptop. Frankly, the final decision was heavily influenced by Best Buy selling the Macbook for $500 under its previous price. Moreover, the Macbook does meet my needs such checking email, surfing the Internet, etc., while I am traveling. The Macbook is very light and can be easily carried in one hand. Even with its relatively small size, I find it easy to type on the keyboard. The display is decent as long as you are simply editing photos of your trip and are not planning to do any graphic design work. Lastly, the gold color has a slight red/pink tinge to it from certain angles. I would probably have preferred the silver but since all of my other Mac laptops have been either silver or space grey, I guess I can live with this "gold" color.

The gold color is amazing. Looks almost like the rose gold. Very fast computer. Just the right size. I totally love every aspect of this computer.

The quality is just superb and the performance is good as well. The MacBook is very handy and light weight and easy to use. Better back is amazing.

So I've had two other MacBooks - original version and the 2nd gen. my son is using the first gen one and the other sold but I missed it and picked up this version recently and am thrilled I did so. The 12" size is my favorite MacBook and MacBook Air size (remember the 11.6" version?) - I even had a 12" PowerBook back in the day. This model just works - gorgeous screen, super thin and light. Not necessarily a powerhouse (my iMac does that) but perfect as a super thin and light notebook.

Lightweight, easy to use and extremely fast...very happy wit this product and would highly recommend.

This is a great notebook computer for travel. A con is only one outlet. Though choice between this one and the new MacBook Air.

Brought this for school. I love it, good quality, easy to use and most important not virus prone. It's very sleek, portable and easy to protect with the many cases on the market. Make sure you buy a durable case to protect it from dings and scratchs; it's too expensive to not protect! There is nice camera for video. You will need to buy the adapter piece in order use a USB drive and etc. Overall, I would buy this again!

The look on my niece's face when she opened it was priceless, She's been talking about getting a MacBook for soooo long. The rose gold color is so sleek and pretty. It's lightweight and easy to travel with. Will be great for young entrepreneurs and creatives which she is. I got it for a steal as well $500 off can't beat that for a MacBook

It is lightweight and slim. It is high speed. The only drawback is there is no USB port.

Just what I needed and wanted. The good things are that is very thin and light, perfect to carry everywhere. It even fits in my everyday purse! My daughter loves it, and I do too, because it’s just the perfect size for her to hold. The gold color is gorgeous and stylish. There’s only two bad things for me, 1-that it only has one C-usb port, so you need to purchase an adapter. And 2-no MS Office.

I love this Mac. Super easy to use, and has a perfect size. Battery is great as well.

great computer - very light and small, thin profile help make sure you can take it everywhere you go. Build quality is solid. Keyboard especially feels well built. This Macbook charger plugs in through USB-C which definitely is less flexible than the magnetic connector in previous generations, but you can get comfortable with it.

After accidentally breaking my Air, I wanted a more powerful laptop and decided to invest in the newest Macbook Pro. Best decision ever! The improved retina display, speed, and ease of use via the tool touch bar is magnificent. I'm both a student and a working professional/creative and this laptop serves every purpose, and then some. 10/10 would highly recommend.
