1st MacBook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After initially purchasing a Surface 3 for my Son who is in his first year of college, he mentioned after a month in at school that he would prefer a MacBook...and he utilized the bargaining position of "You would like using this Surface 3 Dad!" I was shopping around for a 2 in 1 for myself. He now states that he "LOVES his MacBook", and I can readily state "I love the Surface 3!" HA!

As good as they say

I did need to update as soon as I got it, but it was free and easy to do so in the App Store. Super light and thin, travels well. Battery lasts a good while, and I like the extention for the power cord

Cost effective apple computer

I liked the device, but the screen resolution is of lower quality than all the other Mac computers that are currently being manfactured. I think this is a great computer for everyday tasks, but didn't have enough processing power and the limited integrated graphics for intensive applications that involve video or photo editing, unless you have patience. At least it has a USB / Lightning ports unlike the newest macbook. I would recommend this computer to college students and home users, possibly for light commercial use.

Underpowered for music production

I did purchase the Macbook Pro to use instead. The Air's i5 without the ability to upgrade the ram was just not enough for what I needed. My daughter has this same computer for her schoolwork and it's fine for that purpose

Good laptop for a college student

It works slower than the MacBook Pro, but for the price that was expected. So far it has given me little to no trouble. I'm very happy with this purchase.
