Really enjoy the smaller size - 13. Can't get over the lightness. Very quick in boot and shut down. Very portable. Great battery life.

This thing is great because it couples decent hardware specs with amazing software for a decent price (for Macs). The trackpad is second to none and the keyboard is comfortable and backlit. The form factor is amazing: It's super portable due to its dimensions and weight. Battery life is very long (lasts at least a whole day on full charge). The software and hardware in Macs are generally efficient in energy usage. If you're looking for a lot of ports or an optical drive you won't find it. Most users won't really mind these though.
The only thing I don't like about it is the non-retina screen but at this price point that's acceptable.
On the software side: I use both Windows and OS X but prefer OS X hands down for productivity and Windows for gaming only, I only use Windows for productivity begrudgingly. When I pay for a Mac I'm really paying for the software more than anything else. OS X is kind of interesting because for less technically inclined people OS X is easier to use but for power users it feels more low level and powerful. Windows in comparison is cluttered and annoying (especially Windows 10).
Overall it presents itself in a nice package. If you've already made up your mind about getting a Mac over a Windows-powered PC, want an entry-level Mac but aren't sure:
* Get this if you want something that is portable with a keyboard, trackpad and display included.
* If you have an existing keyboard, trackpad and display and don't care about portability but would rather prefer better specs and a lower price get a Mac Mini.

After being a Mac owner and trying the whole tablet then tablet/laptop 2-1 thing, I knew it was time to return to my roots. We bought this Macbook Air after checking it out in the Apple store. We have never been happier with a computer. It's lightweight, fast and the battery life is AWESOME. We have gone a whole week and not charged it and still have almost 40% life, and we use it everyday. You can't go wrong.

I was shopping around for a laptop for my son. He is a teenaager and need a laptop easy to use, good battery lightweight and mainly powerful with a a lot of memory and fast speed. I did a lot of research and decide tot buy the Mac book.
Since he is an iPhone user he got used to it right away. What I love the most is that he can synchronize the MacBook and his phone to storage homework.
He is very happy with it and works excellent.
It is pricy but worth it.
I do recommend this product to anyone.

I am a teacher and have been tied to using PC's my entire career. After years of frustration with speed and performance I finally broke down and bought my first Macbook. PC's may cost a bit less, but the performance of this Mac is well worth it. IIt is fast from the start. No more sitting and waiting for programs to load. Open it up and it is ready to use. Navigating through programs is seemless- especially if you already have an iphone. I can't believe I waited this long to move away from a PC.

I was anti Mac for years and had trouble adjusting to the difference. After replacing 3 laptops within 3 years for various issues, decided to try a Mac. Love the size, ease of use and the speed. Does not lock up or lag and has no virus issues as common with PCs. Make the switch.

Great MacBook this is my third Apple computer . I really like the compact size and weight of this laptop. It is quick, has beautiful graphics and comes loaded with pages, numbers, and keynote. Everything you need to get you working on many projects . The battery life does not last all day as is stated I have to charge my battery every night with normal use. However it fully charges is about 1 hour. This is a good computer for the price. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Ultra portable and light weight. Battery life lasts forever. Quick boot up when using and storing frequently. Fast enough for everything I need - internet, streaming movies, word processing, spreadsheets.
If you own other Apple products this is the only way to go. The ability of Yosemite to connect with both my iPad and iPhone is better than anything I could have imagined.

I'm a desktop guy. I always have hated laptops. I hated the trackpads. And the overall "flimsy" aspect of a portable computer. But most of all I hate the battery life of most laptops.
We ended up getting a great deal on this macbook. They were having a sale and we had a coupon for students to get $100 extra off any apple product. And when we bought it I instantly had buyers remorse. I wanted to take it back and exchange it for a $200 chromebook, because I just knew I wasn't gonna like it. But I needed it for school and I wanted something that was going to last and not be as susceptible to viruses and malfunctions. But let me be clear. As soon as I pulled it out of the box, all buyers remorse went away. I have never been happier with a purchase. It runs so smooth. And I have used it about an hour a day for the past month. And I've only charged it twice. The battery life is insane. And it just feels like a slim chunk of lite weight metal. Not just a cheap piece of windows trash. Coming from someone who swore he would never own a apple product four years ago. I bought a iphone, and was very impressed. Then I bought a iMac, even more impressed. Apple TV blows roku out of the water. And now I have a macbook. They are more expensive but you get what you pay for. Superior machines! Hands down apple loyal for life

13" Air 4GB, 128G, i5 - RECOMMEND
Light weight.. Very easy to set up with my Apple account. All the drivers were already updated and really to go within 4 minutes from pressing ON. OS updated after my 1st week without any issues. I'd returned my Surface 3 and Surface Pro 4 and went for the Air. Glad I did. So many updates for SP4 and worst for the Surface 3. Wifi kept dropping on the 3s.
Battery life on this Air is comparable to my iPad. (8 hrs total for 4 days of use at 15% left. I can watch 3 movies with small headphone for 6hrs from 100% with12% left over)
Not the speediest and no HDMI. I recommend this for surfing, movies SD or 720p. If 1080p or 4K streaming, go with the PRO series.

With tested battery life of approx. 10 Hrs and great portability, this is one of the 'Comfy' gadgets to be a must have. Great resolution, style and performance. Although, spending approx. $1000 may seem too high for the product, but when the product arrives it all fades away. With no need worry about getting a new laptop for the next few years, this Definitely, is a great investment!!! As far as Best Buy service is concerned, as always - Impeccable!

Absolutely love my Mac. My wife and I were going to be waiting until around Xmas to purchase a new Mac but this went on sale and I also had a 10% coupon due to a move. Got it at a great price and won't be looking back. Amazing battery life, great pre-installed apps and works well with my iPhone and iPad. Purchased a Toshiba last fall and have had nothing but issues with it. Out of the box this is much faster and already more reliable.

My favorite part about this is it is so thin and light, it is the weight of a tablet basically. I love that it has all of the same functions as my previous laptop the MacBook Pro. It has a full keyboard, and seams to run very fast. The other plus is the battery life!!!! I can go days without charging it, and when I do charge it it charges very fast.

Lasts longer than my phone which is impressive in itself. Thin, lightweight and Yosemite does an awesome job maximizing power and efficiency with the hardware given. 4gb is ample to handle almost everything thrown at it other than running multiple virtual machines. But for normal daily tasks, its more than plenty and it smoothly runs xcode for me.

I purchased this notebook/laptop for my wife. My main reason for purchasing it was because it was lightweight, easy to handle, and yet still powerful enough to complete her every day work tasks. I highly recommend the solid-state drive (SSD), though it may seem expensive it is worth every dollar.
My wife loves to use it. As with all Windows to Apple operating system transitions, there was a learning curve, but well worth it.

I've been a PC my whole computing life; I even work at a company that builds Windows-based software. So yeah, I've been pretty entrenched in Windows products. I've always been curious about Macs, and I've only heard good things. But when my laptop died, I attempted to replace it with another Windows laptop. I wanted something lightweight and small. I ended up with a slick little convertible number with Windows 10. That laptop had a problem with the trackpad so Best Buy exchanged it for me and sent me a new one. This one was just randomly glitchy. I don't know if it was hardware or software related in either case, but I was done with that brand. When I returned to Best Buy to exchange it again, I looked at other laptops but wasn't finding anything else that had the right specs for the right price. My hubby just got a Surface Pro which he loves, but I already have an iPad so I really didn't need another tablet. I decided to look at MacBooks. I was pleasantly surprised to find that for not a lot more money, I was able to get into a MacBook Air. When I got it home, I was immediately struck by the quality of the hardware. It just felt more sturdy than those laptops I tried, even though it is lighter in weight. Setting it up was a breeze, and I quickly discovered that the keyboard configuration is the best I've ever used. I mean, it's really amazing how good the keyboard is! I was able to pick up the basics of OS X pretty quickly, and a little researching online provided me with answers to things like what are the keyboard equivalents to the Alt and Ctrl keys. I've had it for about a month now and couldn't be happier! I don't even care that it doesn't have a touch screen. I absolutely love my new Mac and have not looked back since. If you're on the fence about switching from PC to Mac, take the jump - you won't be disappointed!
