Still the best Air ever made

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is the 2017 model which hasn't changed but is still sold new. - The keyboard is the older "scissor-type" which is 100% reliable (not like the newer "butterfly-type" which were defective from day 1 and will have to be repaired annually). - The SSD, although "only" a 128GB, may be upgraded as it's in an internal slot and takes about 15 minutes to do the upgrade. The later machines have SSDs soldered to the motherboard so, if you want anything larger, you're out of luck. Additionally, should a soldered-in-place SSD fail, that requires an entire motherboard. - The screen isn't a "Retina" type but that means it doesn't suck down the battery's charge trying to refreash all those (essentially useless) extra pixels. I bought this to replace my wife's 2011 Air which finally bit the dust. She wanted the same thing she's been using for years. Done. If she ever needs more storage space, I can upgrade the SSD. Try that with any other new notebook Mac! Excellent machine. You can bet Apple will discontinue this Air because it's a much better bargain the the more expensive "2018" Air (and is much more reliable).

Air for the Win!

It got me through undergrad and grad school. The Air is compact and sleek, but the screen is big enough to SEE what I am doing, and I really like the keyboard. My only wish is that Mac included the 10-key numeric pad.

This Apple Mac air replaces a Apple MacBook Pro that is over 12 years old and still runs. This MacBook Air is being used for work. I teach and have been using it for remote teaching. I have google drive and google classroom. It has made my life easier.
