Didn't Last Long IMO-Get insurance!!

In August of 2022, she let me know that the MacBook would no longer power on. After trying all the suggestions online, I turned it in to our local computer electronics repair shop Sep 1st and just got a call back today. It's the logic board. It's not working at all. $900 to replace with a brand new one or $600 for a refurbished one. Since the original cost was $1038 after taxes, none of the logic board options sound good. Unfortunately, I didn't get the AppleCare insurance. I've never had insurance for a computer or laptop and they lasted years. This is my first experience with a MacBook and I don't think I will buy another.

Beware!! Refurbished and would not charge at all!!

The machine would not power on at all (straight out of the box). Left it to charge all night and it still didnt get past 1%. I took it to the Apple store the next day and was told it was refurbished, and that the warranty had expired. I would have to pay almost $500 to have it serviced. (Supposedly this was a New Machine BTW). This was my daughter's graduation gift so she was excited about it. And for it to not work at all and get her hopes up, so I purchased one from the Apple Store while there. Much better, and reliable.. Becareful and be sure to READ EVERYTHING. The return was simple but I just didn't like the hassle and the disappointment on my daughters face. Not sure when/if I will purchase anything from BB again. This experience left me not trusting BB.

Do we have a lemon?

We find ourselves having to reboot our machine so often. It’s brand new and that shouldn’t be the case. We’ve had a few support chats with Apple that have yielded no results and I’m tired of calling. If I could swap this for a new machine I would do it in a heartbeat.

Camera has stopped working!

It's not even up to 2 years of use. I have alot of meetings and classes that requires me using my camera. Please beware before you spend over $1000....

Worst MacBook ever made

We got the same model again and it died within 3 hours. The 2017 MacBook Air had a better battery life. Beautiful computer design but is not worth the price.

Bad Product

I charged it up thinking it might have died but that was not the case. No matter how many times I rebooted it the picture would not come on. I knew it was still working because I could still hear it but I just couldn't see anything on the screen. After a year of putting it off to the side I decided to reboot it in hopes that it would come on. It did come on, however, the picture was very faded and after about 30 minutes the screen went dark again. This is a device that was not even used that much to begin with for something like that to happen. Very disappointing.
