Fan turns on if you use the Chrome browser or anything substantial. Watch review/breakdown videos and you'll find out that Apple did not add a channel that connects the fan to the processor. No way to efficiently cool the processor. Apple could have done better. My Chromebook is better than this thing. My MacBook Air circa 2014 is better. BTW I use other Apple products. I like Apple products. I just don't like this one.

Mac book air

I also have an I phone and I pad and it’s all comparable and I don’t have to carry phone around the house because texts and calls go to each devise . Screen is small I had a 17 in laptop but honestly I don’t mind it . I’m 59 and have no problems using it.

It is perfect for college students and casual browsing. If you need something for gaming or CPU intensive tasks, look elsewhere. Only reason to this is that the processor in this MacBook is passively cooled, rather than directly so it can get really hot if you try to push it to the max. Overall, its a great product, especially if you can get a student discount

Finally a Macbook Value

The current generation of Macbook Air brings that back to the table. This device is fast and reliable with a solid build quality. The price represents its value. Getting a 512gb SSD for this price was previously unheard of in Apple territory.
