After a few years my MacBook Pro was showing its age. I decided to upgrade to a New MacBook Pro without the touchbar. After discussing my uses of web surfing, multitasking word, excel, and other work related documents, an Apple Rep at Best Buy recommended the New Air. The Battery Life is great. The display is crisp, and the turbo boost in processing power meets my personal needs. The speakers seem to be better than my old Pro. This laptop is also super light but the quality still feels great. The keyboard was okay. Like all new MacBook products it has the butterfly key mechanism. I am still working on getting used to it. The product was on sale for $100 off which made the price difference even more than the entry level pro. Overall, it was a nice change and good product.

Went from a Microsoft Surface to this. So far I love it. It works very fluidly. I love how quickly it wakes up from sleep. It's sleek and light yet big enough to where you don't have to squint at what you're typing. Battery life is amazing. If you keep your screen brightness at 50%, it''ll last you a whole day easily for work, emails and browsing. So far I don't regret it and love how it integrates with the apple watch and iPhone. Buy it you won't be disappointed.

This computer is absolutely wonderful! I switched from an hp and I can tell you it was honestly the best thing I ever did. It doesn’t freeze up on me every 20 seconds, doesn’t take 9 years to load a webpage or app, its easy to carry around and the battery last longer than I expected. Although I bought it to use for school, and it’s not compatible with the programs of which the school is choosing to use I still decided to keep it because I love it that much! The only thing I didn’t like was that my options for cases we’re very limited in store, however I found plenty to choose from online.

I absolutely love this laptop. I purchased this as my travel laptop since it was lighter, smaller and I could still access any files I needed from my other MacBook Pro at home. I think it was the best decision I could have made so when I travel I am not taking my bigger laptop, but a smaller version. The graphics, power, speed, use of the fingerprint is excellent. Easy to use in tight spaces (such as airplanes, crowded meeting spots) and still get the job done. Battery life seems to be too short, but hey isn't that the case with all Apple products, the battery alone never seems to stay on long enough.

I used to have a dell that was 1/4 the price and it barely lasted me 2 years. After just one week of having it, it was already slow and glitching and all I really bought it for was to do school work. This MacBook is amazing and does everything I could do on the dell and more. It’s fast, easy to use, sleek, and overall a great computer. The only thing with this is it doesn’t have USB ports or HDMI because it is so slim, so if you need those ports you’re going to have to buy an adapter separately (I don’t need them so I don’t really care). Overall, I love it so much!

I opted for this over the MBP. I like the wedge design better. So far it fits my daily usage and the speakers are surprisingly good. No complaints, just happy with a simple, sleek, fast, compact, and lightweight laptop.

I am completely satisfied with my purchase! I am able to get all my work done fast and simply it is extremely easy to learn all of the features. My fav is the Touch ID. It totally lets me have a difficult password without the hassle of always having to re-enter it. I have already put so many docs and apps on this device and it has barely touched the storage space. It is also super fast and no lag!!! I am also surprised and happy with the long lasting battery life. Because it is so light, it is way to transport with you. I highly recommend for students.

    MacBook Air 128GB SSD

It was time to upgrade my 2010 MacBook Pro and my wife’s 2009 iMac. Replaced my Pro with a 13” Gold MacBook Air, 128GB SSD with Retina display and also got one for my wife. (BB was happy to see me!) What a difference! The MacBook Air is so light. Why carry around the extra weight of a DVD/CD player? Haven’t used it in years. The Retina display is amazing. The screen display is crystal clear. With all the docs and pictures transferred over from the MacBook Pro, still have 53GB of free space. May not sound like a lot, but 53GB will last me until I upgrade to whatever Apple has on the market in 5+ years. The stereo speakers on each side of the keyboard are amazing. Clear sound with wonderful stereo separation. The MacBook Air (latest model as of this writing) is a pleasure to use and it’s fast. I also like the security of the finger print reader to login to the Air. Would highly recommend one consider this laptop, especially if you have a MacBook Pro to replace.

Safety at your finger tip. My first Mac air. I had a Mac book pro. This is light, fast, and small enough to put it in a large purse. Almost good as the Mac book pro. It just does not have an usb attached (only con). Battery life is great. I can go at least 3 days without charging it.

A Great Upgrade to the Air but...

Having the responsibility for about 8 MacBooks and another 5 Windows PC's in my coterie, I feel qualified to talk about the new Late 2018 MacBook Air 13" base model. On every level, it is an upgrade over the older editions aesthetically and functionally. It's fast enough for most purposes outside of heavy video editing or rendering heavy applications like CAD/CAM or Animation. Since I have had other USB-C MacBooks, the noise about dongles and legacy ports just is not important to me. If you live in a world where you need all of the old stuff - don't buy this machine. Battery life seems to be a bit less than the 10 hour claim, but for the average day, I don't feel compelled to have to take the wall charger and cable. I love the Touch Sensor and T2 chip, and hope that it finds its way into the full lineup of MacBooks in the future. I think the new Retina Screen is good. It's not great and is noticeably less bright than my other MacBooks (12" and 13" MBPro). When working on it, the screen is fine. But in brightly lit areas, it's not as sharp or as bright as I was expecting. What I must say is that this computer is not a great value. After 3 weeks, the 128gb drive is pretty-much filled with essential programs. There's no excuse for this configuration other than Apple's greed and pretending that it is at a popular price point. I am sorry that I did not buy a MacBook Pro (for $200/more). It's a better machine on every functional level. A faster processor, better graphics chip, more storage and a much better screen. The weight difference and form factors are (to me) the same as the current Pro and as such, I think that it is the better option. I will keep this new MBA, only because it's not returnable.

Bought this as a gift for my son 21st birthday in gold. He was so thrilled to get a new apple laptop. His old one was lagging and started having issues after 6 or 7 years of use. So I surprised them with a new 1. He loves it the color is different and he truly loves the feel of it the look of it. The sound has a lot more base to it and you can tell the difference period of course it's much faster than his previous Model. I am very glad that I decided to get him this version and I'm glad I did before it sold out at the time period would definitely recommend. I personally have not used it so I can't truly give a full descriptive detail on how it works but so far from him he enjoys the touch ID and no it's not touch screen.

I have been using a Mac Air for the past 5 years & although it was still adequate I felt it time to do an exchange & upgrade. I was not disappointed. The display is worth the upgrade alone. The Touch ID is a great addition. The keyboard has a smoother touch & I feel like it’s easier to type. The touch pad is improved & more responsive with several useful additions with 2 & 3 finger commands. The processor speed is perfect for my needs

I was able to obtain a $200 discount off a price match, which is a great price point for this MacBook Air. Speaking purely from the perspective of choosing this computer for the MacOS experience, I have enjoyed using it. I’m using this computer for basic use such as email, Microsoft Office, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Contrary to reports of how underpowered the processor is, I have not experienced any lag, even when using Photoshop, Illustrator and Safari (multiple tabs) at the same time. Portability-wise, battery life is great (8-9 hours with some media consumption) and does not get overly hot or loud. TouchID is more convenient than I thought, but I use my Apple Watch to unlock my Air. The speakers pump out full and rich sound and can get quite loud without any static or vibrations distorting it. As usual, the Mac trackpad is still, in my opinion, the best in the market. For the cons of the new Air, the keyboard did take some time getting used to with the shallow travel and somewhat loud clacky noises, but I was fine with them after a week of use. After 2.5 months, I haven’t had keyboard issues yet, but I recommend getting AppleCare+ because tech reviewers are starting to experience them, despite being the 3rd generation butterfly switches. I am also not a fan of the webcam, which just does not look sharp when video chatting. There have been complaints about the brightness of the screen. Working indoors near sunlight, I have not had any problems seeing things on the display, although I was at or near max brightness. If your screen is facing very bright sunlight, the brightness would not be high enough to counter it. All in all, for portability, relatively light intensive work and ease of use, I would recommend the new Air (at a reduced price) if you want the MacOS experience. If you plan on doing more intensive work such as graphic design and video editing, the MacBook Pro or other PCs like the Dell XPS 13 will be a much better value since the Air cannot upgrade beyond the i5 Y series chips or have dedicated graphics.

I love love love this laptop. I switched from my Toshiba laptop I’ve had for years over to Apple. I own a lot of apple products and felt it would make more sense to have an Apple laptop as well to keep everything connected. Since the day I got it I haven’t been disappointed. I am a college student. This laptop is small enough to carry with me anywhere and fit on my desk during class. I bring it to work as well. I was a little worried at first about the fact that there’s no USB ports but I just got an adapter for the laptop that has 2 USB ports, a slot for my sd card and 2 more ports for something else. Overall, I love this laptop. If you needed assurance to get it, this review is for you. It will not disappoint you.
