I had the original MacBook Air so long ago and loved it. I found it to be a little bit slow, but I loved the light weight. It is similar for this one. It is not as fast, of course, as my MacBook Pro I use at work (or my wife’s MacBook Pro), but I don’t need that extra performance for Python and such. I would not get anything with the storage less than the 256GB. If I had the money I would get the 512GB.

Like the title says, the build quality of a MacBook is unlike any other laptop out there, and this MacBook Air is no exception. It's solid, light and good looking. I even like the keyboard. The screen is nice and bright, no issues seeing it in any lighting conditions, even direct sunlight. The lack of touchscreen doesn't bother me as I keep my laptops connected to an external display anyway. My biggest gripe with this laptop is the dual core processor. For the price of this laptop, I can't believe they didn't put a quad core i5. If you're doing basic productivity work, emails, web surfing it's fine. But as soon as you push it, it becomes sluggish. If you have to have Mac OS, or you just hate Windows, and you don't plan on doing anything processor intensive, you can't go wrong with this laptop.

My first MacBook so a lot of things are new. Loved the trackpad as it lets me do so many things single handed. Beautiful display and the speakers for a device so thin, it's unbelievable. Also very lightand fast and am getting to like MacOS too. Only thing I like less about this laptop is the keyboard. Very shallow and needs some getting used to. Overall an excellent laptop and would really recommend it.

Nice update from my 5 year old MacBook! But I wish they had more ports, buying a 1000 plus computer then having to buy an adapter for ports sucks but performance and battery life for writing papers is why I needed.

this is a great computer, easy to use, lightweight and nice new keyboard and larger trackpad

this being my first mac, the only thing I have to compare it to is either a PC or iPad... as a laptop it works well and I have access to many sites without all the popups PCs are prone to get. my only negative is that there doesn't seem as many compatible apps in the App Store between the Mac and other iOS products. its a hassle to have to go to each app's website to see if there's an applicable extension or app that's just not listed in the official Mac App Store. handoff works better on this than it did on my 1st gen iPad Pro and I'm glad I splurged for the Touch ID. hopefully the new Mac OS coming this fall will address some of my issues and developers in the future will be able to streamline their designs between devices so some things sync better within apps
