The overall experience is great, the only problem is the battery life only last 7-9 hours

Overall, this is a great laptop. I've been using it for the last week, and it gets a lot of things right, but the few drawbacks it has, I think should cause people to reconsider. First, the good. In my opinion, the best part about any macbook is the trackpad. The trackpads are so precise and responsive, and the force touch is just a joy to use. It is miles ahead of any windows laptop, and makes the user experience that much better when not using a mouse. This one is no different. The trackpad on this macbook air is big and beautiful, and has a lot of intuitive gesture support. Second, the screen. The aspect ratio is much better for pretty much anything besides watching video. It's not a ridiculous 4K screen that will kill your battery life, but it's also higher than 1080p. In my opinion, it's the perfect resolution, and everything is crisp, and the screen gets ample bright. It's also not as reflective as other laptops. Third, battery life. This laptop lasted pretty solidly during daily use of watching video, browsing the Internet, and other miscellaneous tasks. I never ran any benchmarks or heavy stuff, and I figure most people won't be buying this for that. And lastly, this Mac has the typical benefits of others, such as a great build quality, macOS (if you like it), nice colors, and a solid hinge. Now, for the bad. There were several issues with this laptop in my opinion, most of them negligible, besides two of them. This laptop did get a bit hot from time to time doing normal things, but it never got loud so I was okay with that. It only has two thunderbolt 3 ports, which is kind of a bummer, but I bought an adapter so it's not the end of the world. The issue that would cause me to warn against this laptop is the performance. And I'm not saying this laptop has very poor performance, it's just not worth the price. If you're buying this laptop, you probably want it to last you at least 3 years, and probably more like 5. Well, it comes with an 8th gen DUAL CORE i5, not the new quad core i5. This essentially means the processor has about half the power of the quad core ones, and apple didn't include them in this laptop even though Intel came out with them before. The macbook pro has the quad core, and pretty much every other competitor does too, so in terms of future-proofing your laptop, this one isn't it. I wouldn't of thought it a big deal at first, but simple things such as scrolling through a pdf online or switching between desktops have low frame rates and are laggy. It just detracts a lot from the user experience, and is kind of a deal breaker in my opinion, especially since that performance is only going to degrade over time. The next big issue is the keyboard. Personally, the low key travel doesn't bother me too much as it does other people, except for the spacebar. The issue is, however, that so many people are having dust issues with the keyboard where keys stop working or become finnicky, based on my research. Apple has recognized this issue, and is offering free repairs, but ONLY for the pre-2018 models. So this one will not get free repair, even though many people are having issues with this one too. The possibility of my keyboard malfunctioning a few months or a year from now is a scary thought, since this laptop isn't cheap. And the fact that Apple refuses to recognize the issue for this laptop does not comfort me as a consumer. You may be someone who doesn't care too much for performance because you don't plan on doing anything heavy, or don't care about the keyboard that much. But at that point, why spend $1400 on this laptop, when you can get more for less with others? If you're deadset on macOS, I honestly recommend buying an old magsafe macbook pro, because those are way cheaper and still have most of the benefits. Therefore, while this laptop was pretty great, I would not recommend it. The price simply does not justify what you're getting.

Great laptop. However, it heats up pretty easily and can lag when just using chrome.
