I have a fully loaded $5,000 14" MacBook Pro 64GB M1 as my personal computer and this new MacBook Air seems to be just as fast for normal email and web browsing tasks. Apple's new chips are insanely quick whether you are on the highest or lowest end of their offerings.

Had some issues transferring my data but a quick phone call to Mac support and the help of an (as usual knowledgeable and personable) employee helped me solve the issue in 15 minutes.

I had an IPAD PRO but wanted to still have a laptop, I had the magic keyboard but still didnt satifsy my need for laptop. Overall great product, now i want to up grade to the 15 inch

Great, But Very Hot

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Between the obvious performance bump and a very slightly crisper image over the previous generation, the only thing that still hasn't improved is the overheating--gets very hot around 2 hours of continuous use, and I'm just using the internet and occasionally Photoshop when I need to work away from the home office. Granted, it has been a recurring problem with every Air so it's more or less expected and it doesn't hurt performance on any of the low-bar tasks I'm doing on this computer, but I can't imagine that heat is good in the long-term for the other internals.
