This computer was a gift for my niece. Of course we both started using it and I have to say that Apple has brought down Macbook Air to a nice price point where it is affordable to everyone. The M2 Chip, 16 Gb memory is enough for someone that uses it for school and social media. This a great everyday use laptop for a teenager. Most people don't work in multimedia or need much more than this. It's a great device and I loved it for my niece.

I’ve had mine for a while now, and I can confidently say—it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Light as Air, Strong as Steel The first thing anyone notices about the MacBook Air is its unbelievably light frame. Whether I’m heading to a café, catching a flight, or just moving from my desk to the couch, I barely notice it in my bag. But don’t let its sleek design fool you—this machine is durable and built to last. Performance That Keeps Up Powered by Apple’s custom silicon (like the M1 or M2 chip, depending on your model), this laptop is fast. Apps open instantly, multitasking feels seamless, and even demanding tasks like photo editing or running multiple tabs never slow it down. It handles my day-to-day tasks—and then some—with ease.

Let's keep this in mind before reading too much into my review: I'm a 33-year Windows veteran who hasn't used a Apple computer since the Apple IIe (let's not count my iPhone or iPad, okay?) and I've got to say... it ain't half bad. These MacBooks are solid chunks of aluminum with nice feeling keys and pretty okay software. The main thing Apple has been pushing is "it just works" which, for the most part (prior to Apple Intelligence) is true... provided you're already up to your knees in the Apple ecosystem AND you're okay with the fact that Apple likes to do things that make no sense except to their executive bean counters. So far, I really love USING this thing, or at least the physical act of it. Typing is pleasant, once you get used to the fact that Apple seems to think aesthetics are somehow more important than ergonomics. For example, no matter how "centered" they want to pretend this keyboard is, my hands do not feel centered at all. Also, the trackpad is centered within the width of the chassis, but the keys are NOT - basically because they never have been before. So your hands are not going to feel quite right if you're coming from a Windows machine to this Mac thing and you do a lot of typing. I was glad to get the 16GB model for a halfway decent price (relatively speaking - my Asus Vivobook with 20GB RAM and 1.5TB storage STILL cost less than this thing even after I built it up) but that's not why I bought this. This is mainly my writing laptop now, for social media and actual word processing. It'll get me around on the internet just fine, but I still prefer the wide-screen format of my 15" Asus. But aside from portability and the need for something more up-to-date than my old Ryzen-5 machine, I'm hoping that this is better with graphics and video and audio editing than my Asus. And I'm glad to see that I now have a single-port docking capability for a second monitor+power+USB for the times when I'm actually using this at my desk... a feature only my corporate Latitude 5540 could replicate before. But for all its physical density (this thing is thin and solid) the outer finish is slick and slippery. You're absolutely going to want to get a sleeve, or at least a vinyl skin, for carrying this thing around. I happen to have tons of space in my laptop bag, so this goes in there fine with my iPad and Asus and all the cables that go with them. But carrying this thing from room to room with one hand is a recipe for disaster, unless you actually prefer your laptops full of dents and scratches and Cheeto-dust. For the price you're paying for this, it would be worth every penny to at least give it some protection and slip-resistance.

My son absolutely loved this laptop. It was amazing how affordable and easy it was to set up. He is using it for school, and it is so useful. Not to mention the battery life and display are great. I would definitely recommend.
