I bought the MacBook Air 13-inch (M4 chip, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) from Best Buy during Black Friday as a college laptop for my son, and it has been an excellent choice. The M4 chip is fast, responsive, and very efficient, handling everything a college student needs — research, writing papers, online classes, coding, presentations, and multitasking with ease. The 16GB of memory is especially important for a student, as it keeps the system running smoothly even with many apps and browser tabs open. The laptop is lightweight and easy to carry, which is perfect for moving between classes, the library, and the dorm. My 2020 MacBook Air (Intel) crashed recently and purchased the MacBook Air M4, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The M4 is super fast, design is sleek and light weigh.The performance is impressive — apps open quickly, multitasking is smooth, and the battery life lasts me all day without needing to recharge.

I think this M4 MacBook Air is my 28th Mac since 1984's first 128K Mac. It's actually not quite as thin or light as my 2013 Air (still running just fine but outdated in terms of support and apps it can run). It seems more or less the same weight and thickness as my 2000 M1 MacBook Pro. However, the Air is plenty lightweight, has great battery life compared to previous Macs, and it offers pretty much everything the average user might want. Like every Mac in recent years, it's a breeze to set up. It's easy to automatically transfer data from a prior computer, and the processor is super fast. I purchased this one for my daughter who has gone back to teaching. Just the base model with 16GB RAM and a 250GB drive is plenty capable and fast for what she needs. The keyboard is good, better than her old 2016 MB Pro and better than my 2000 MB Pro. When I replace my own MB Pro, I'll probably get the Air as I can't see a need for the extra features on the Pro line. I've always overbought my Macs and never really took advantage of the extra capability, to be honest. Visually, the Sky Blue color is a nice change, very pretty. For anyone with doubts about Macs, not a single one of my 28 previous Macs died or broke down. I still have and can boot up my 1989 Mac SE, which is a hoot for anyone who never saw one working. What happens with Macs is that over time, Apple stops updating the OS and doing security updates, and many apps no longer run of them. But you can always get 9 or 10 years out of one before feeling maybe you should replace it. Highly recommended computer. Finally, I've bought a lot of Macs at Best Buy and it has always been a great experience.
