I purchased the MacBook Air M4 a few weeks ago and in short this is quite a powerful machine for its price. As a student and a programmer I needed something light, strong and a machine with great battery life to handle my day to day tasks. The MacBook Air M4 checked all the boxes for me and had a great price tag for such a new Apple product. Below I will give the Good and the "Meh" of this machine. The Good Battery Life: The new MacBook Air M4 offers outstanding battery life, making it perfect for students and programmers who need all-day performance without being tethered to a charger. Whether you're coding for hours, attending virtual classes, or juggling assignments, its efficient M4 chip keeps everything running smoothly with incredible endurance. Base Model with 16gb of RAM: This ample RAM is particularly beneficial for students and programmers, allowing for seamless operation of multiple applications, such as code editors, compilers, and virtual machines, without slowdowns. The combination of the M4 chip and increased memory ensures a smooth and efficient workflow, making it an ideal choice for handling complex programming tasks and academic projects. M4 chip & Bench Marks: The base model MacBook Air with the M4 chip delivers a major performance boost, perfect for students and programmers. Built on a 3nm process, it features a fast 10-core CPU and scores around 3,760 (single-core) and 14,700 (multi-core) in Geekbench 6—up to 20–30% faster than the M3. It also includes a powerful Neural Engine for AI tasks and runs cool and silent thanks to its fanless design, making it ideal for everyday coding, multitasking, and schoolwork. Works amazing however when it arrived it had a tiny ball once touching it seemed to be a manufactured mark for the price its upsetting but other than that works as it should.

I was excited to get my MacBook Air, but have had a series of confusing glitches come to light, some because of typos by the salesperson, some because of challenging new leaps in Tech - like that it won’t accept my true password, but to get around/through is a process I’m a stranger to. Another trip to the Geeks who know everything!

Price was great but the shipping package is very poor . No protection and the laptop's box came dented

Design-wise, the Midnight finish is stunning. It’s sleek, lightweight, and feels premium. Battery life is excellent—I consistently get through a full day of work without needing a charge. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the port selection is still minimal, and I wish Apple offered more storage options at a lower price point. But overall, this is a fantastic machine for professionals, students, and creatives alike.
